Update 1:

Here is the first update to the plugin. While the initial release was just a quick hack, this is much better version. I now looked at most portions of the plugin:

Just the plugin (300kb)

Plugin with source code (6 MB)

http://www.tacdev.eu/files/THREATOculusPluginSrc.zip

Whats new:

- Plugin always loads up unless there is no Oculus runtime present
- More options in the menu to enable/disable just the headtracker
- You can use the Rift as a TrackIR if you want... just enable the headtracker and put the rift around your neck.
- POSITIONAL HEADTRACKING WORKING. Now we have not only rotation, but also translation.
- You can turn on the Rift while inside Prepar3d and click "Enable Rift" to initialize it. If you do this, it will report errors.

Whats old:

- Rendering still sucks and is not properly synchronized with headtracking.
- Thus latency and immersion are awful.
- Did not receive any reports of the plugin working for anyone but myself.

This is seriously good. Even with very low settings the immersion is incredible with DK2, P3d and Opus! Just try that F22 if you want to make yourself sick!!! 😄

Initially it took a lot of messing around to make it work - the main issue being that you have to use the modules folder within P3d for the dlls. head tracking and screen split works on whatever monitor I display too. The best solution has been to run DK2 as only monitor and then when you turn it off the PC jumps back to my desktop monitor.

P3d version 2.3
Rift firmware 2.11
Runtime 0.4.1
DK2 in extend mode and service running.

Awesome work - thanks so much for sharing!!! 😄

You want crazy good "presence?" Try pulling over the C72 from FSX and giving it a go. Clear as day, smooth as silk and totally flyable and usable. Low and slow keeps the sickish feelings away.

Definitely a VERY welcome addition to the Oculus DK2 list. It's too bad that you have to turn down the settings so much to achieve 60+fps. I hope P3D will finally add SLI support soon.

Once you do hit 60+fps.. wow, it's an amazing experience
