Hello, my name is Peter Valencia, and I'm a 3D artist for indie games from California, USA. When I first got my Rift DK2, I was blown away by the level of immersion it brought to the user. I immediately became inspired to create a VR experience that paid tribute to a game very dear to me, my favorite game of all time, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
What is Star Hill, you ask? It’s the place where wishes come to be born… and come true! Here you will find wishing stars that reveal the heartfelt wishes of residents from all over the Mushroom Kingdom. Their hopes and dreams are revealed to you as you explore the demo.
This demo will appeal most to fellow fans of the game. However, even if you have never played Super Mario RPG, you may still enjoy this! You won't understand some of the references, but the environment in the demo is very unique compared to other demos you may have tried, so I welcome you to give it a shot regardless! (I welcome you to get the original SNES game as well, if you enjoy this demo. It is considered by many to be one of the best games (and RPG's) of all time. You can get it as a Virtual Console title from Nintendo)
The demo is very kid-friendly; there is nothing frightening, or dangerous to the player, so this is a Rift demo you can feel safe showcasing to younger audiences. If you fall off the platforms in the demo, you simply respawn again. I hope this demo brings a smile to someone's face out there! Enjoy!

Note: The 64 bit version is a development build so you have access to the command line. This is so that you can tweak any settings as needed, like vsync, etc. You can find a
full list of commands here. The 32 bit build does not have command line features, but is less likely to crash or have bugs.
Please feel free to report any bugs. I am not a programmer at all (I made this demo entirely with Blueprints), but I plan to add more features to this demo in the future if time allows - like more cameos of characters from the original game.
Comments
Technically I got some judder but that's probably my GPU not hitting a constant 75fps in UE4 or some other weird thing regarding the current SDK.
I ran into this error twice, first time it happened about 10 seconds it, second time not until a few minutes:
There's an error log that eventually crops up too, it doesn't generate one per attempted launch though.
DXDiag if you're interested.
Let me know if you need anything else. I'll be more than happy to oblige.
Hope this helps anybody else having issues.
I just added a download to the original post for a 32-bit build. If anyone else has any problems with crashing/launching, try the 32-bit build instead. It might work better for you.
I plan to do many many more VR demos!
I heard Square is pretty loosey goosy with the Chrono IP, why not do a fan remake of Chrono Trigger. Nobodies ever gotten a C&D over Chrono Trigger fan projects.
Yes, I'm kidding. Never forget.

I only managed to get it working in Direct mode a couple times and then never again (for some strange reason). Not sure why. :?: Please try Extended mode instead for now. Hopefully I can get Direct mode working in the future as that is definitely the ideal method.
However, here's some good news. I just tried the 32-bit version in Direct mode and it worked perfectly on my end. The demo is mirrored on your monitor in window mode, while the game is rendered fullscreen on the Rift itself.
So it looks like only the 64bit version doesn't work in Direct. The 32-bit one does. Can you try that one and test it? (If that was the one you were using all along, never mind.)
P.S. Also try toggling fullscreen on and off (Alt+Enter). Sometimes that gets it to start rendering to the Rift.
