Rift CV 1 > Vive Pre

People are already saying that Rift CV1 is far better than Viva Pre, e.g.:

So, looks like that's it. We are paying a lot ($600 or more, depending on where you live) for a A+ product.

That, or you could wait and also pay a lot for a "not that good" product.

Sadly GOOD new tech is expensive. It's up to you to decide if you want to buy it or not.

PS: for people like me, that had problems with the pre-order, see this and keep calm :).

I mean people, you know, plural. I see one guy on your link.

To be fair you are comparing a release version to a engineering prototype. Once people get to try a release Vive we will be able to say what one is better. That said as they both launch at the same time it should be close.

Real review will probably roll out in one or 2 days everyone are probably hoping for the vive price to pop out to make a proper comparsion (but is not going to happen)

Yes please point me to a consumer Vive (even a picture of one.) Exactly how are they going to take preorders next month for a product that no one has even seen for a possible April shipping date that in order to meet they would have to be mass manufacturing right now? I just don't see a lot of reasonable speculation that once again HTC will fail to meet their milestones and not deliver when that seems to be so obviously the case.

Yeah, you might be right. HTC still has the excuse to say "this is not final, we will improve it", which can indeed happen, but that would also mean further delays in the final consumer version.

Personally , the only real tech that sets the vive apart from the rift is the tracking and the controllers.... but its not such a great solution compared to the touch thats coming out that it would affect my buying a rift for all its other benefits compared to the vive... that being said i feel as if this whole motion in games comotion is an issue... check this out ?

This project was made awhile back but with todays tech.... I feel like this type of movement solution is much more inuitive compared to the limitations of walking around a room or having to deal with using something like the Virtuix Omni. There basically rollerblade shoes that are designed to keep you stationary while walking and running for vr application. ...

Meh. I'm not getting involved in the VR Media Wars. It's pointless, and already too fanboyish for my taste.

I'll probably buy the two anyway. But no Morpheus for me (I don't have and don't want a PS4), however, it also looks interesting. A nice package to go with a PS4.
