Has anyone seen this yet? Someone is selling a signed Kickstarter Rift. Don't know how real it is -probably fake- but mostly really sad.

Looks legit to me.  Those sigs aren't really adding much value imo.  I never considered the fact that many of the Kickstarters may not even have a PC to be able to run the dang thing.  (he mentions this in the listing).

Soooo according to the reddit instructions I pre ordered at 06.01.2016 - 16:07:3x (UTC) and the last one seen on reddit to atleast get the 1-3 weeks mail is from is 16:07:12, so I was a bit too late ...
    My Order is 264XXXXX
But any "official" information would have been nice.

Only way to do that is by opening a support ticket afaik.

But tbh lets calm a bit - maybe it gets delayed a little; yes, it may or may not piss some people off but in the end it will all be worth it.

And I don't know how you feel: On my DK2 the SDE was the biggest annoyance for me -- and apparently the Rift beats the VIVE when it comes to that particular point.
Yes, I do care about FOV, i do care about games and I do want a motion controller -- but for me the deciding factor were the lenses.

So yeah...go ahead and cancel (Hey Oculus...I just moved up one spot) ;)

  • Sure you can move up. Without being funny on my part that is. Mind telling me how to open a support ticket??

My theory is they sent the first 1-3 weeks email last Thursday telling to have money ready in 1 to 3 weeks. Which mean Thursday, whatever Palmer said... Just from that email they can't start charging before tomorrow...

It was already a checked box which needed to be unchecked.  Received order confirmation e-mail and second order confirmation e-mail incase I didn't get the first one so pretty sure they have my e-mail address.  I did not get either the "Rifts are shipping" or the 1-3 week e-mail.. I have a e-mail rule to not block Oculus e-mails... But for S&G's checked spam.. Damn I get a lot of Viagra emails but nothing from Oculus.

Pre-Ordered the Vive this morning.  Always have to have a back-up plan.  Wish I was as smart as Nostram and ordered the Vive earlier.!

Just place your order with VIVE and get on their list, that way if Oculus pulls a rabbit outta their ass you can cancell

I'm second guessing my purchase. I may craigslist the rift and spend the money on a vive instead if this takes longer than 3 weeks... I was given a March estimate. At this point, no one is going to get their rift in March.

Don't feel too bad about not getting your shipping details, I completed mine EARLY in the process and have heard NOTHING since the original pre-order confirmation email.

    Order Number: 613xxx23xxxxx
    Confirmation Email timestamp: 8:04:10

So I should be very close to the front of the pre-order list and I have had ZERO contact from Oculus since I pre-ordered.  I have to say, your lack of communication makes me wonder how well you appreciate your customers. In good faith we pre-order a product and promised to pay $700.00+ to you, the least you can do is provide better communication on order status.

Ah, that's where your wrong! The kick started all got theirs in March. The people that didn't pay anything...Didn't do anything...They get there first, but the people that take work off because they were told March shipping date, Nah, they don't get there March.

Someone posted on Reddit they got theirs. They were from Iceland I believe. Not in the US I know. So at least 1 person has ;)

Really makes you wonder if the production levels were vastly mis-stated. Or they did not expect the level of pre-orders and are in "Oh Shit!" mode right now trying to figure out how they will be able to provide product.

Per Cybereality, there was zero stock in place for pre-orders. This was basically a manufacture on demand situation. Not necessarily a bad way to do things given that it's an untested commercial market, but it does have its drawbacks. Namely, unknown shipping dates spread out beyond July.
Not a Rift fanboi. Not a Vive fanboi. I'm a VR fanboi. Get it straight.

So then you end up waiting until May...while you see the Rift group you were supposed to be in receiving their head sets.

Well im not happy with the current updates but at the same time don't want to cancel, order the Vive and wait until May at the earliest. I don't currently have the space for room VR and am looking for a seated experience knowing that the Touch controllers will come at some point this year. Have followed Oculus VR updates since kickstarter (not backer), Its just annoying that i have downloaded the free launch games and am ready and waiting for an email at least stating its being prepared for shipping. A UK 28er here half way through a 2 week holiday

I find that amazing.  Even if they were conservative, they had to know that 100k of these things would sell.
