Android Daydream

Google announced their rumored VR play yesterday called Daydream. They also announced standards for headsets that you can put your phone into and standards for phone to be considered VR ready.

I think the big thing here is that Android is now a VR platform that manufactures can use to make their on headsets. I don't see this being big on phones but I do see it being big for stand alone headsets. What do y'all think of this announcement?

1) access to GPU clockspeed, like for S7 is whats needed
2) access to docked sensors, like GearVR is whats needed.

Oculus Home like app is not needed as future VR devices will need be airgapped to protect the user.

Doesn't count. It was created before the actual announcement.  😛
