God rays on splash screens... Why use high contrast splash screens?

Since god rays are a reality, I wonder why game developers insist on a high contrast white/bright lettering on black/dark backgrounds for game splash screens.
Unreal engine logo for Eve Valkyrie and Elite Dangerous are prime examples of God rays in splash screens.

Because the God Rays were introduced after they had already developed their games.

Does it kill the immersion for you, because the splash screens you see in reality dont't have god rays or something? 😄
