Issue with 360 3D video in Oculus Video app

Hi all, first post!

I've been experimenting with playing .mp4 files shot on a Nokia OZO camera.

For some reason the Oculus Video app will only correctly play back 360 3D videos that have top/bottom frame packing for the left and right eyes.  If I attempt to play back a .mp4 with left/right frame packing it does not display properly.

I am using the recommended file-naming convention and the videos are 3840x2160.

Anyone have this issue with left/right 360 videos?

Did you follow the naming conventions from here? https://support.oculus.com/help/oculus/913156505462211/?ref=hc_fnav

So it should be:
  • “_TB.mp4” or "_360_TB.mp4" - Top / bottom 3D
  • “_BT.mp4” or "_360_BT.mp4" - Bottom / top 3D
I prefer using Virtual Desktop to play back my 360 videos, so much easier 🙂

If you don't get the correct answer in here it might be wourth shooting over an email to support: https://tickets.oculus.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Whats the Nokia camera like? Looks amazing 🙂

FrozenPea I used the exact naming convention. I will file a ticket, for sure. The OZO camera is fantastic, the technology still has a ways to go but Nokia did a great job in regards to ease of operation and workflow.

I'm going to try the virtual desktop app and report back.
