Why Are No Live VR Streams Available on the Rift?!?!? All are Gear only...

I was really looking forward to experiencing some VR concert, sports, and olympic streams with my shiny new Oculus Rift.

Unfortunately it appears that ALL of the Live VR Video apps are ONLY available on the stupid Gear??!?!  Why did I spend $900 on a Rift when all of the cool content is only availble on the Gear?>????

I guess it's my fault for assuming that these feeds would be available on the top of the line VR headset...

I guess no one cares to watch the US Open or the Olypmics on their expensive Rift hardware???

Why the hell did I buy the rift insteal of a god damned Gear?>!?!?!?!?!?!   I guess I'm just an idiot for assuming that 360 video would be available on the RIft, but God DAMNED marketing seems to have all of the decent stuff EXCLUSIVE to the STUPID GEAR VR!!!!!

And the NExtVR website has a RIft Link, but it just links to the Oculus website and there is no Rift app available!!!

What an absolute kick in the head and way to crap all over anyone who bought a Rift instead of just getting the Gear....

I contacted NextVR about a week ago, im more interested in sports, concerts, live streams etc. I just received a generic reply stating NextVR is coming soon to Oculus and in development.

That makes sense.

Then what's the simplest solution for streaming Youtube 3D videos on CV1 (on Windows 7) ?

That's a error with the uploader. I've found with all my 3D videos that you need to ignore the 3D setting in the options otherwise as you suggest it defaults to anaglyph and doesn't give you any other playback options like it used to. Not sure why Youtube changed it.

The odd part is the thumbnail pop-ups along the time line are SBS still.
When you do find SBS content, Virtual Desktop will play it nicely.
This is not streaming, but it's a good 3D movie suitable for Rifting ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBUfikFZJqo

I think it (the frequent default to anaglyph) may be keyed to the device you are using, so a pc gets anaglyph and a gear gets sbs? But it's not consistent.
