Surprise for your unneeded TF2 hat code

I've been informed by one of our members that this is most likely a scam to get you to give your hat away for cheap. There's no concrete evidence to prove this; however, I recommend you keep your hat - it could be worth far more in the future than one of these $20-30 games (and most gamers should have 3/5 of those games, anyway). You're free to do what you wish with your hat code, of course, but use your own discretion here.

This message is dedicated to all of those (9,522 Kickstarter backers) who got the Oculus Rift TF2 hat code and do not need it. I was not able to get the headset because of finance problems 😞 But as I know there are people who do not care about the code, so I'm willing to honor you gentleman gesture buy gifting you one of the following games of your choice 🙂

Natural Selection 2 http://store.steampowered.com/app/4920/
Half-Life 2 Episode Two http://store.steampowered.com/app/420/
Global Ops: Commando Libya http://store.steampowered.com/app/200020/
Counter Strike: Source http://store.steampowered.com/app/240/
DOTA 2 http://store.steampowered.com/app/570/

Feel free to make me happy, PM me and be sure to add your e-mail address so I can send you a game of your choice using Steam 🙂

PS: The code will show up as a button to retrieve it here: https://www.oculus.com/sales/
However, it won't show up until your order has been set to at least 'processing' or you were a kickstarter backer.
Do NOT activate your hat code in Steam.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Joanna

I might be able to get you a game to meet your specific need if you really do not find anything from my list. But I prefer to give away the games I already have. And I'm sure that among 9,522 Kickstarter backers there are people who find a game from my list which makes them happy 🙂

But do not hesitate to let me know your specific game preference and I see what I can do. And please, stay in reality - I cant offer you AAA $50 games 😉 Indie titles are ok.

i still don't even know what this hat-code is. Do i get something like a "physical" baseball cap or something like it the the coupon? Or is this some player model in TF2?

cheers,
daniel

It is a virtual hat for a character in Team Fortress 2 game.

I bet you'll sell it for 10 times what you offer 😛

For the sake of helping people from being scammed: The code you get is a hat for Team Fortress 2, a game with an extensive economy surrounding hats (seriously). Hats themselves serve as a currency with unusuals selling for $200+ dollars easily, and rare hats going for quite a bit.

So please be aware when people offer to gift you games. The TF2VRH (the name for the hat you get when you input the code in TF2) is going to be very rare because of its time-locked status. While it's currently untradeable once you do redeem the code, the code itself is worth anywhere from $50-$100 on ebay and the hat is likely to rise further in price. All of those games listed in the OP are well under the potential asking price for the hat.

Reverse image-searching his avatar shows that he's obviously a rather large trader trying to scam people out of items to resell later for profit.

edit: Also a lot of his friends are idle accounts that he owns.

Can I ask which reverse image searching platform you are utilizing? I try with tineye and get nothing. Still, 'gamer-girl' is obviously a scammer looking to make a quick profit off of naivety! Thanks for the heads up people!
