using rift with motion simulator, what about position sensor?

i am building a 2DOF motion simulator, with it, my entire body will pitch forward and back +/- 30 degrees and roll side to side +/- 30 degrees.

if i mount the oculus sensor on the moving rig, so its in a fixed position relative to my head, pitch is no problem, i pitch forward, in'm in the same place in the cockpit.

roll is a problem, i'm still in the cockpit but leaning, no sitting upright as i should be. i tried with the sensor level and with it leaning, same problem. how does oculus sense lean? i'm guessing its in the headset, not the sensor.

is there any way to turn off lean (tilt) detection in the headset, i think that might do it?

thanks

i take back what i just said 'is there any way to turn off lean (tilt) detection in the headset, i think that might do it?' that would be a terrible idea, head tracking to look around wouldn't work at all.

i need a way to unlean the display when my body is leaning, but have my head work as normal. not sure how to fix that. maybe something in the game?
