Hi, can anyone tell me exactly what are the differences between these two versions? Can I develop with "oculus rift cv1 consumer edition" or "oculus rift cv1"? I am a developer. Using unity3d game engine. Please suggest me the proper VR configuration.

There is no such thing, CV1 stands for 'Consumer Version 1'. The reason people refer to it as the 'cv1' is because before we had the dk1 & dk2 - Development kit 1 & 2.

So you only need to buy the 'cv1' there is nothing else 🙂 Here is a link to it to make sure: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oculus-301-00204-01-Rift/dp/B00ZFOGHRG/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1480004411&sr=1-2&keywords=oculus+rift

They don't sell any other kits apart from the 'cv1'. The only way to get the older version is second hand like ebay etc.

Can I develop on CV1? Is there any restriction?

you can develop on a CV1, there is no restriction. I've used my CV1 with Unreal Engine 4 with no problems 🙂

Yup - I've been using mine in Unity fine.
