Howdy! First post, but I am into oldies stuff, but I enjoy some new! I ADORE Andy Lau ( just lust after him and his voice for ages) and I'm a fan of Rick Astley,Elvis,Prince,Uncle Kracker,.....loads of varieties, I just have yet not figured out how to put any music on my phone. Yes,I'm old,(56) and only recently finally got rid of my flip phone and want some of my music on the VR music apps!

I've been on a huge Future Islands kick for the past month. Not just because of VR sensation "Old Friend";  I really liked the song 'Seasons (Waiting On You)'  long before that, but the spotlight of Old Friend did compel me to seek out more of the band's work.  As far as I can tell.. it's all great.

Complimentary:  Gang Signs. Miike Snow. Empire of the Sun.

I've also been listening to the following song at least a few times per day. Never heard of them until Pandora snuck it in while listening to some of the previously mentioned bands:

    Mmm, 'dat bass.
It's hard being the voice of reason when you're surrounded by unreasonable people.

This past week I revisited an old favorite, Judas Priest.

I'm currently obsessed (again) with the song, Revelations:

I started listening to Priest at a very young age (elementary school). And a riff from the song, Victim of Changes, was one of the first things I ever learned to play on the guitar. There is so much to talk about with this band, but for this thread I will just focus on the progression the singer, Rob Halford, made over the years. I think it is great the way he evolved as a singer and a musician. He did a fantastic job of owning his lifestyle through the years, as well as managing his stage presence with each unique approach to song writing.

    Through the 80's

    And all the way post-2000

I ain’t rich, but I damn sure wanna be
Working like a dog all day, ain’t working for me
I wish I had a rich uncle that’d kick the bucket
And that I was sitting on a pile like Warren Buffett
    I know everybody says
    Money can’t buy happiness
But it could buy me a boat, it could buy me a truck to pull it
It could buy me a Yeti 110 iced down with some silver bullets
Yeah, and I know what they say
    Money can’t buy everything
    Well, maybe so,
But it could buy me a boat
They call me redneck, white trash and blue collar
But I could change all that if I had a couple million dollars
I keep hearing that money is the root of all evil
And you can’t fit a camel through the eye of a needle
    I’m sure that’s probably true,
But it still sounds pretty cool
'Cause it could buy me a boat, it could buy me a truck to pull it
It could buy me a Yeti 110 iced down with some silver bullets
Yeah, and I know what they say,
    Money can’t buy everything
    Well, maybe so,
But it could buy me a boat
To float down on the water with a beer
I hear the Powerball Lotto is a-sitting’ on a hundred mill
Well, that would buy me a brand new rod and reel
And it could buy me a boat, it could buy me a truck to pull it
It could buy me a Yeti 110 iced down with some silver bullets
Yeah, and I know what they say,
    Money can’t buy everything
    Well, maybe so,
But it could buy me a boat
Yeah, and I know what they say,
    Money can’t buy everything
    Well, maybe so,
But it could buy me a boat
It could buy me a boat

One of my favorite song is from the band Faber-Drive. The tittle is When I'm With you. That songs remarkable for me and everytime I heard that song it brings back the memories that happens to me before.

Haha thanks :) yeah cables is always a mess when you work with modulars.. its just something you adapt to rather quickly.. but with more advanced patches i do use cable ties here and there.

I was just listening to Believer by Imagine Dragons. I like most of their songs.

Playing so much Robo Recall and using Dual Shotguns reminded me of another favorite band: Machine Head

"Let Freedom ring with a shotgun blast!"

I've seen Machine Head live twice, the first was most epic because they opened up for Pantera (early 2000's). Interestingly (and sadly enough), when Dimebag Darrell of Pantera was shot and killed on stage, a group of Internet Trolls started talking sheit about him and his death. Machine Head released an epic song dedicated to those trolls:

what the fuck did I watch?

more to the point, why the fuck do I like it so much?

If I didn't love chappie so much I don't think it would have been played at all lol.

and Zen, I used to like machine back in the day. The problem is it started with Machine head and ended in strapping young lad

    Any Rob Zombie fans here?

I love his movie, The Devils Rejects, and his "House of 1,000 Corpses" Album is definitely a favorite.

    Everybody Scream

    Pussy Liquor

I think his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, is spectacular:

Yeah, Rob's alright, and his old outfit White Zombie did some decent tracks as well. The direction he took with Educated Horses made me lose interest though - haven't really checked up on him since.

I still have fond memories of Flatout 2 - every time one of his songs came on, an unstoppable evil grin would take a hold of my face, and the urge to just ram the nearest car off the track became irresistible.

I remember his track Dragula showing up in a Twisted Metal game, so I also understand that feeling. I just wish my vehicle had mounted guns and missile launchers.
