    Badass vid there @elboffor

For some reason the composition instantly reminded me of an old (very old) favorite, King Diamond.

I spent a lot of time in my youth listening to the Conspiracy album on a non-stop loop:

And I'm happy to say I saw them perform live one time.

A good friend of mine "sealey" played with mercyful fate not too long back.

Aparently kd is a bit of a nutter in RL and not just on stage.

Personally I think its shite but he seems to like it lol

As for nekrogoblikon, that video is a masterpiece!

Aahh..  local boy Kim Petersen - yup, impossible to miss growing up around metal loving kids in the late 80's

Remember feeling a bit creeped out listening to "Them" for the first time

The entire album is etched onto my consciousness, but this acoustic version of the final track is both ethereal and heart breaking.

Cornell is a sad loss. Godspeed.

Got a knack for Zakk Wylde's sound these days, and have the Black Label Society albums spinning. The old dog can still rip a decent jam...

I'm a Metalhead as well, mostly into Melodeath/Groove/Thrash these days and kind of shocked that someone listed Parasite Inc. in here. I've been waiting for the follow up to Time Tears Down since that album dropped. One of the best debuts for me in years. Lots of good stuff in this thread though that I like, Machinehead, Death Angel, Parasite Inc, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Slayer, Deathklok, Cannibal corpse etc.

    Some favorites

Well, with the decent amount of metal heads around, can anyone point me towards something that can remotely scratch my Pantera need..  I simply CAN NOT tire of their albums, and while Down is a very decent act, it's too much bluesy rock to be a replacement, even though Phil does a good job.

I'm an old dog, who's probably unaware of newcomers carrying the spiritual Pantera torch...    suggestions?

Machine Head's earlier albums were pretty Pantera-ish. Throwdown is another and also the defunct Pissing Razors. There's also a few younger bands in that vein like Sons of Texas, A Perfect Murder & The Sign of the Southern Cross .  There's also Exhorder who a lot of people think Pantera got their sound from. I can't really point to a single band that's carrying the spiritual Pantera Torch though. A lot of people would say Lamb of God but not sure I agree.

Yea, I like em. The singer sounds a lot like a young Anselmo. Interestingly enough with the timing of this thread, they're actually on tour right now with Vinnie Paul's band Hell Yeah right now heh.

And I'm next door in Louisiana where Phil's from.   :#

Wow! I guess we are all just a pile of metal heads here. So I thought I would throw in my two cents. I grew up with Ozzy, Megadeth and Metallica and was lucky enough to be a teen during Grunge era listening to Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Blind Melon and many other great bands.

Today, still loving me some Rob Zombie (this with a little Primus twist since that's how Zenbane started the thread)
