Pairing iPhone with Windows 10 and Oculus?

I see the "do not disturb" feature suggests I can get in-HMD notifications. It'd be a great way for my wife to tell me it's time for bed instead of taking off the headset an hour later to a room in total darkness.

Thoughts?

Agreed. It would be very useful if notifications could be pushed to the headset.

Getting push notifications like that would come in handy. I'm unsure how well they could integrate a system like that though.

I was under the impression, however, that the DND function was meant to show people on your friends list that you are unavailable/busy.

The Rift has Bluetooth, can you not get text messages from your phone appear in the rift?
