One of thse issues i've had with OTT is the inability to run it under a normal user account. This is due to the OculusDebugTool needing more permissions, or actually, different permissions depending on the command issued. I think i may have finally solved this, thanks to @md59 pointing me in the right direction, and also doing the inital testing along with @MarkedOne. I'd like to get some more testing done on this, so anyone interested in testing the latest beta, just drop me a PM here on the forums or ping me at [email protected] Again, big thanks to @md59 and @MarkedOne for helping out with this!

Wow.. That took a long time to get done. But now it's here, hope you guys find it useful. The new Steam Import feature is currently in Beta as it needs a bit more testing. As usual, please report any issues to me here on the forums or drop an email to [email protected] The Steam Import feature was implemented by the awesome @headkaze and i highly recommend checking out his site over at for more cool stuff. I changed the dropbox link to be a direct download as some browsers have issues with displaying the download button. Also linking directly to the .exe installation file instead of the .zip. This has to do with the new autoupdater, it was just cleaner to have that download the .exe instead of a .zip.

- Fixed an issue that could cause Windows to not shutdown/restart properly when OTT was running.
- Fixed an issue where multiple profiles with the same launchfile (DCS.exe for example) would cause OTT to hang on startup.

  will be adjusted to center screen.
- Fixed a first-run error about a missing database table which would cause OTT to hang on first launch.

- Added options to delay setting CPU Priority and ASW. Seems like some update to Oculus now causes ASW settings
  to fail if applied too soon. So this change will let you tweak that per profile so ASW can be applied properly.
  Use the "ASW Status" overlay (Visual HUD dropdown) to check ASW status and see if it is applied properly.
- BETA Feature: Added @headkaze's Steam Import feature for bulkimporting Steam games. HUGE MANY thanks for all his
  hard work on this one. Make sure to visit him over at for more cool stuff.
  This feature might need a bit more testing, please report any issues to me using the forum or [email protected]

Progress on the new version is going, but it's going slow due to many factors. Stuff just keeps happening that needs my attention and there's not a whole lot i can do other than to just deal with it. But, a new beta has been sent out. It has new stuff. It has fixes. It will come along soon(-ish). Sorry for keeping you all waiting, i'm still here =)

The message saying the file cannot be previewed is nothing wrong. It's a .zip file and the preview feature
of dropbox does not handle those kinds of file.

- Ticking "Show removed 3rd Party apps" did not list anything. Unticking it caused the library to look empty, and only show apps on mouseover - FIXED
- Re-enabling removed 3rd party apps does not work - Fix in testing
- AudioSwitcher sometimes fail to reset audio/mic - Fix in testing

Sorry for the wait, was a lot of stuff to get sorted. There are probably still some things that needs tweaking,
so don't hesitate to PM me or post your findings in this thread. HUGE thanks to all who have helped out
testing the beta and finding bugs!

- Fixed an issue where games/apps that have the same DisplayName or launchfile where not visible in the Library.
  If a game has a .exe as DisplayName, for example "vrserver.exe", the DisplayName will be set to the actual
  launchfile without the .exe. This should help to find the correct games when assigning profiles.
- Fixed an issue where the Oculus Service did not stop when "Stop Oculus service when tool exits" was selected.
- Fixed an issue that would cause OTT to not start if the third-party icon page on Reddit was not reachable.
- Changed how profiles are created. You now right-click or double-click an app in the list to set the options.
- Changed how Power Plans are selected and applied.
- Added "Set Power Plan on Exit" option.

- Added option to not require Oculus Home to be running. Ticking this box will start the game monitor immediately.
- Added option to always disable power management on Sensors, instead of only manually once PM was detected as enabled.
- Added right-click option to Library and Profiles windows to hide third-party apps.
- Added support of Oculus App 1.22
- Added support for multiple library locations introduced in Oculus App 1.22
- Added Timer as detection method. Use this if the standard WMI method does not seem to work for a perticular app.
  The Timer option is what OTT used in the past and it is more CPU intensive, but more accurate that WMI.
- Added option to create and edit profiles from the Library view.
- Added option to launch app from the Library and Profiles view. Since OTT then controls the app start this method should ensure
  that Super Sampling is applied if the application supports changing Pixel Density (not all apps do).
- Added option to launch app with custom launch options from the Library and Profiles view.

UPDATE 01/11
Just found that in the latest Oculus updates (at least in the 1.22 beta), Oculus have moved the location of the third-party manifests. They no longer reside with the rest of the games, which causes them to not show up in OTT. I will need to add a fix for this, but the new version is still a bit away. Might push a small update to the current version just to fix this issue. The new version is progressing nicely by the way =)

Currently working on the next release which should be labeled 0.83. Got a bunch of things i wanna adjust and also some new stuff i'm hoping to get in there, so next release might take a little while to get out to you all. On a side note, i just checked the stats on the number of downloads and it has passed 20000 for the current version! That's just nuts! Thanks to everyone who support me and help improve things by beta testing and coming up with new cool things to put in there. You rock!

I just had very, very brief 10 min test with Oculus Dash beta. Initial impressions; Wow, just.. Wow. Some awesomely impressive work!
With the latest nVidia drivers things look soo crisp, it's amazing. OTT still seems to work (on my PC anyway) but there are some
kinks for that need ironing out. Will post an update somewhere, right now i just wanna get back to Dash, my new home @ home =)

On a side-note, i am working on gettting OTT running under a normal user account. The problem has to do
with elevation priveleges for the oculus debug tool, which is used in the background for several things.

- Added GUI option to run in debug mode for easier bug hunting.
- Added option to edit third-party app configurations. Native Home games can only be viewed.
- Added fix for profile names getting messed up in Oculus 1.18 Beta.
- Added option to manually set Library Path if it is not detected properly.
- Fixed Oculus Home not starting on tool start if the "Spoof CPU" option was also set.
- Fixed "Start with Windows" not working. If you had it checked before, you will need to check it again.
- Fixed "Object reference not set to an instance.." error when adding profiles.
- Fixed "No current row" error which is caused by a missing appId in the Oculus database.
- Fixed Voice Callback not being set properly.
- Removed "Delete" option for third-party games as that is better to do from Oculus Home.
- Changed Hotkeys are now only active when Home is running.
- Changed Hotkeys now use a modifier again, no modifier worked kinda bad. CTRL+Arrows or CTRL+Numpad 2,4,6,8.
- Changed Profiles are now updated/created immediately when you change an option, no more checkboxes.

Ok, so the bug seems fixed, 0.80.1 can be found here:

- Fixed the issue with the icon replacer that could cause the folder you downloaded the icons to to get deleted.
- Fixed so ASW now returns to the global setting when an app exists.

There seems to be a bug in 0.80 with the icon replacement feature that can cause data loss!
Please do not use this until i have had a chance to take a look at the bug!
For anyone affected by this, and need to recover files, you can try and use Recuva to
recover your files.

Edit: Bug found and fixed, will release an update soon.

There is a lot new in this version, so there are bound to be a bug here or there. Just let me know here on drop me an email if you find any. This version comes with a proper installer, thanks to @headkaze. Make sure to copy over the 'config.xml' to the new location, if you choose to install in a different path. The new SteamVR implementation is NOT compatible with the old. If you used the old method of replacing SteamVR,  
             please use the Restore function before using this version. So run your previous version of Oculus Tray Tool to first
             restore the app, or simply uninstall/reinstall that app, before running 0.80.

  • Fixed an error when using the Quick Select dropdown on the Scan window.
  • Fixed window going outside screen bounds when clicking "More >>".
Known Issues:
  • Scaling is not working for the "Minimize or Close" dialog.
  • Uninstalling the app used for to replace with SteamVR, without first using the Restore
    option, causes OTT to hang on startup. Workaround is to re-install the app and then
    use the Restore option to remove SteamVR from Home and restore the original app .exe.
    Then you can uninstall the app and select a new one for integrating SteamVR.
  • Hotkey combinations (CTRL/Alt + Arrow keys) might stop working. Investigating the cause.

- Fixed another issue with SteamVR not being detected as installed.
- Changed method for detecting application starts. Now using WMI instead of timer, which uses less CPU when idle.
- Changed to using the the built-in version of OculusDebugToolCLI.exe, if it is found under <OculusPath>\Support\oculus-diagnostics. If not then the local version will be used. This should make sure the latest version is always used since it is now
shipped with updates to Oculus Home. You can override this by setting <UseLocalDebugTool> to 'True' in the config.xml file. Setting this to True will use the OculusDebugToolCLI.exe shipped with Oculus Tray Tool.

Those running 0.67 should get a update ping when OTT starts, if not then i've made a mistake with that somewhere so please let me know.

Currently tracking the following issues in 0.68.

- The application might crash/not start with error "Element not found" if no enabled microphone devices are found. This is fixed  
   and will be in next release. As a workaround enable at least one microphone device.

- If using the SteamVR integration or launching steamvr using voice commands, SS is not applied for profiles.
  This is most likely cause by the Oculus service not accepting additional ss settings once a vr app is running, in this case  
  SteamVR. If launching a Steam game using a shortcut, without first launching steam, SS is correctly applied.
  To work around this you need to set SS before launching SteamVR from within Home. You can use either voice commands or the
  Set Super Sampling dropdown. You need to close SteamVR and redo the process to start a new game with another SS setting.

- SteamVR is sometimes not detected as installed, problem found and will be fixed in next release

Changelog 0.68

- Updated build to .NET 4.6.
- Included updated debug tool so everything works with Oculus App 1.13.
- Profiles -> Scan is now smarter and only shows the actual game launch files when scanning the Oculus library.
  No need to figure out what binary is used to start the game when adding profiles. For any other path, including
  Steam, you will still only see a list of all .exe files in that path and need to figure out what .exe is the
  startfile and use that in your Profile.
- Added a dropdown to the Scan window for quick selection of the Oculus Library and Steam Library (if installed).
- Added option to add SteamVR to Oculus Home. This uses the "replacement" metod. Please do read the User Guide for
  more info about this. This feature and the voice command feature to launch SteamVR are separate things, so you
  can use either one or both as they do not depend on each other. Big thanks to Mike over at Virtual Reality Oasis
  for supplying the sweet looking SteamVR icons.

    Interesting. Now if only Oculus would add ASW settings to the CLI, would be helpful as I have the feeling it is disabled in the steam version of DiRT rally, when I enable it in the debugtool it is fluid.

    Fresco Registry Tweaks [Enabled] [Disabled] (greyed out if not running Fresco drivers)
      Enabled to set the below registry keys that might help with performance of the Inateck card.
      Disabled to revert back to default.

    Ok, really great and useful. I can't find a link into your post to download your tool, I'm ready to test it, even if I don't have the Fresco card and drivers, the remaining options still pretty interesting :)

    This tool is awesome. I love it! So convient to have supersampling profiles, and a easy way to restart the Oculus Service to get rid of the infamous 4-sensor-laggy-hands glitch. You should share it on :-)
