Cannot reach oculus runtime.

Got home from work and fired up my computer this afternoon. Apon starting oculus I got a message that says cannot reach runtime the software may be updating etc. Is there an update going out today or what? Worked fine last night and today this. It does launch the oculus symbol flashing but appears to last forever with no change. Anyone else? No computer updates of any kind between last night and today..

Try disabling anti-virus. I've heard people report lots of conflicts recently.

Try restarting the service from the settings beta menu.

I can't get past the flashing "o" sign at all.

Try a repair install of the setup.

go to your services and locate the Oculus
Runtime Service. If it's not running, right click start. If it is
running, right click stop, then start. This should be the very first
thing you do BEFORE uninstalling/reinstalling anything. I can't tell you
how many times I've seen someone post "reinstalled windows 10 and now
it works" when they should have just turned the service off and on
again...

Don't go to services.exe or services.msc, those are both NOT what you're looking for.

I'm
running classic shell to give me the old Windows 7 start menu back
instead of whatever the windows 10 start....mess....is supposed to be so
my pictures I've attached may not be 100% what you see, but it should
be enough to get you there.
