White haze/glow in dark scenes

Whenever the background is dark and there is a few lights (example farland postcard wait screen) I see a white haze/glow which is quite distracting and not what I expect from Oculus Rift. I didn't have this on the first day of using Rift (I've got it 3 days ago). Why is this and what can I do to fix it?

Welcome to the world of VR, what you are seeing are refered to as god or ghost rays, there are plenty of posts about them on the forum. They affect dark scenes with bright lettering frinstance. Some people have them some not but is inherent to this generation of VR because of the fresnel lenses that are used.

@xWandererx  anything we can do about it with adjustments on the PC or the Rift?

No, but it's no biggy, it only happens in dark screens with white backgrounds.
