A VR Experience is winning an Academy Award

I think this is pretty darn fantastic. This is an experience described as combining, "physical spaces — a sand-covered floor, a spare and cold waiting room, a multi-screen video installation — with the Oculus Rift. Imagery both representational and abstract." This is from the guy who directed the movie, Birdman - which is a great film.

I do love that this breakthrough moment in entertainment history involves the Oculus Rift

The Academy of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that a special Oscar statuette will be presented to already two-time Oscar-winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Carne y Arena (Virtually Present, Physically Invisible).
