An experimental journey into N-space.  Mostly just experimentation with a technique, rather than a serious sculpt attempt.  Figuring out what works and what doesn't.   This sculpt was built by creating a sphere and then carving using the remove tool.  Four or five that are interesting here, probably won't come back to this sculpt, but instead start from scratch and work with the process some more.

The render here is darker than expected, some interesting reflectivity patterns.  The spiraling effect from the light tube and the glasslike qualities of the stamp at the top are intriguing though

The scaffolding effect is something worth a further look, I suspect there are some interesting potentials if we get the ability to place additional lights at some point.  If nothing else, it does give me an idea for a custom stamp.  Think there's some abstract circuitry possibilities too, at higher res

Somewhere else in the sphere, decided to add a layer of low-rez positive space metallics to the carve away, if nothing else it seems ito increase the overall level of illumination

Thinking about hair, without additional rendering.  Went low budget on the eyes though...

Change in lighting gives an interesting shift and apparently made the goatee slip a bit

Thought I'd try carving from a sphere again, this time from the outside in

And a couple of rounds withthe move tool, a bit more smoothing. As far as this one goes, since I'm not using the add clay brush on this sculpt for project scope reasons.

Some more work on the Surfer and a bit of painting on the Manta ray, still lots of ground to cover

Another angle, showing the general outline of the fishes' face.  Rays are weird looking creatures, might go back to the design without the telescoping eyes, see how the rest of the sculpt goes first

This view shows the back still needs a lot of work, but also gives a pretty good view of direction that the manta's paintjob

Current front view closeup, one of the hands more or less sculpted.  This one will probably take a few more days to get to where I want it, still like the general direction though
