Oculus GO - change language possible?

The language of my Phone is Dutch - I would like the GO to be English though. Its in developer mode now and the startup notification (developer) can't be read in full because the sentence in Dutch goes off the screen. I would like to know what the message actually is and also prefer the GO to be English without changing the phone language. Is that possible somehow?

Hello, I also would be interested in how to change the language. In my case the phone setting is English but the Oculus go is set to Dutch, probably according to my location. Can this be changed?

    Me too.
And I am also Dutch. What is it with all these Dutch people that want to change the language, but I would also like to change the language of of my Oculus Go from Dutch to English.

Same situation. I don't want my Oculus Go in Dutch, but in English!   Did anyone found the solution yet?

I believe it pulls the language from your phone. I don't think you can adjust it just for Go, but let me check.

Just switched my iPhone to English, rebooted the Go, but no go :) Still everything in Dutch.

You may have to do a factory reset on Oculus Go after changing your phone language.

What will I loose with a Factory reset?  Will I have to download all apps again?

You would lose everything, any downloads, saved games files, settings, etc.

That's not really an option. No factory reset for me, when I even don't know if it will switch the language yes or no.

Yeah, I'm not positive it will change the language, but it sounds like we're looking into having a language switch option in the future.

You definitely need a language switch option.  I use this headset with people who don't speak Dutch, so they are clueless atm :)

After doing a factory reset, holding down the Vol+ and Vol- buttons will bring up a language choice menu.
But I don't know how to get there without a factory reset though. Sorry.

I took the plunge and did a factory reset.   Holding down the Vol +&- buttons doesn't bring up any language menu.  You have to set your iPhone in the preferred language before you start with the Oculus Go Setup after the factory reset.
Previous downloaded apps are available in a list, but they need to be downloaded again.   And too bad, but no previous game progress is linked to your Oculus account, so you'll basically have to start all over again.

I'm sorry the Vol+ & Vol- thing didn't work for you. I do get this language menu when I try it on mine (right after factory reset). But I'm unable to pair my phone with my Go, so that's a whole other problem. Sounds like you've gotten your language changed though, so that's good.

Is there still no way to change the language on the device without a factory reset?  I'm a developer and would like to localize my app, but I need to be able to actually test those localizations before shipping.  I don't understand why this isn't under device settings like everything else.  What about using adb?  Is there maybe some way to do it with that?

On most Android powered devices it is possible to start the "first start wizard" again manually.
It is a hidden app so to say and one need to either find it or have luck that an alternate launcher will show all installed apps.
Without a reset this launcher then usually goes through the process and sometimes shows what selections are already made.
But you can change them if required and move on.
There are also apps that claim to be able to change the language settings on deices without that menu option available after intital setup.
I doubt though they can be used.
I guess the language problem comes down to market control as it might be linked to the physical location by default.

Thanks for bringing this up. It's definitely something we can look into.

If the locale settings are linked to what the phone provides through the GPS then it would be an easy fix.
Same for adding an option to change the language or locale setting later if not linked.
In the ideal case it would as simple as adding the missing dialog to the system menu.

In case someone is still looking for this, the language can now be changed in the Oculus Go: Settings > See All > Device > Language
