That sucks! Now I'll have to wait even longer to finish my custom watercooling loop as I'll have to head back to Home to play with proper locomotion, pimping my Avatar, then looking out for any friends who I can invade visit.
And then there is still the outing in SkyrimVR with Mjoll calling out to me too...
Oh Woe!

Are you kidding me??? I just rolled out of PTC, and now I want to join in again xD! Well, I'll just wait because I'm scared of performance issues right now... But I'm glad that multiplayer is already here! And being able to share Oculus Desktop? That's an awesome surprise!!!
@Richooal : All this is optional, so I don't see where the problem is. That said, if you don't want to go through Home, you can just launch the VR app from your desktop.
My current config : HP Omen laptop, 8 GB RAM, Intel i5-7300HQ @2.5GHz + Nvidia GTX 1050 (2GB VRAM). Currently plays on : - Beat Saber. - Windlands. - Skyrim VR. I use VR for : - Games. - Art Software (Tilt Brush, Oculus Medium, Mocu Mocu Dance). - Cinema VR (Oculus Desktop or Virtual Desktop). "Everything changes. Even the happy or funny things disappear. Anyone actually managed to invite someone to their home? The friends option doesn't show anyone underneath it, and all my friends homes no longer show up. My favourites list has also been wiped.
Just talked to a mate via party chat, and the same has happened to him - there doesn't appear to be any functional way for either of us to invite the other person (yes, homes are set to public).
The new update appears to give you headset tracking too, walking in a straight line (nothing stronger than cola so far today...) and looking to left or right moves you in that direction!
Nice one Devs

OK I give up! How in the blazes do I put the new Avatar Editor back away?? I opened it and have it in my Home, made some adjustments to my Avatar and saved. Now I can't figure out how to put the editor back away?
Edit: Never mind I managed to stumble across it lol. All put away now.
okay I tried the beta and there are a couple things that are SUPER annoying.....and I better not get the standard " submit a bug report" response. LOL!!!!
1.) There is a popup over my "watch" that will simply not go away!!!!
2.) There is no option anywhere to invite friends over.
@MystaMagoo : that's what you get when you don't follow the trend . Seriously though, I could never understand why people would stay on Windows 7 when Windows 10 update was free. Windows 10 is much more fluid and has much more tools (for example, for a system reboot reset it offers you the ability to keep your files, whereas a system reboot reset on Windows 7 used to erase everything). Only the interface is ugly (compared to Windows 7 that is). Also, as I understand it, the old OS won't be banned from Oculus, it just won't be supported (meaning the future updates will be optimized for Windows 10). It will still work on Windows 7, but it will be less good than on Windows 10. That's all.

Err....wrong terminology there. It’s called a system RESET.
@Digikid1 : Meh, whatever. I personally don't see any difference ^^. The button to restart consoles was called "reset", so I don't have any reason to change the name for PCs. So when I talk about restarting PC, I call that a reset, and when I talk about recovery system, I call that a reboot.

I ONLY told you that so that you don't confuse others. If you use the incorrect terms that you will start an avalanche of people getting it wrong all the time.
A perfect example is when people call a computer a "Hard Drive" when it is not. Another example is when people call Hard Drive storage as " Memory ". That is also incorrect.
Just a FYI. I am not trying to disrespect you in any way.
A perfect example is when people call a computer a "Hard Drive"
There's a difference though. My terminology may be wrong, the fact remains that "reboot" and "reset" are similar words (the proof is, as I said : what is called "reboot" for a PC is called "reset" for a console), thus it's easy to understand even when those two are confused. In your example, "hard drive" and "computer" have completely different definitions, so confusing those two has more consequences in the meaning of the speech. A more accurate example would be : I called a "green apple", a "red apple". It's still an apple, thus it isn't hard to understand what I'm talking about. And as far as I am concerned, being understandable is all that matters in a speech. That said, I will rectify my previous comment, will you forgive me then? (just kidding xD)

Is there a place to get more information on using core-2, specifically the new home features?
I'd like to:
1) Delete my newly created attempts. In other words, what are the keystrokes/incantations required to delete them
2) Select the blaster and targets in new homes. The blaster is always "0" and can't be placed. It is only
available in the default home supplied by Oculus
3) How do we get our own music albums into home?
Thanks
hey there - (some) answers below:
1) no idea I'm afraid, but someone else will be able to help (I'm assuming this is imported assets, if not grab something and then select the PUT AWAY button) 2) only some items are infinite in number, others need you to win/discover them in your reward boxes. if you have 1 blaster then you can only have one out in a home.. if you want to move it from home 1 to home 2, you need to put it away in home 1 first. please note that shaking reward boxes before opening them makes some objects more likely (but how this works I'm not actually sure), and it makes them hum/sing/glow 3) you can't do this as yet - you can (using dash) pin your favorite player into the world space and have that play music for you.
Though you are more than slightly incoherent, I agree with you Madam, a plum is a terrible thing to do to a nostril.

I have been playing a lot with the custom assets feature. (Excellent addition Oculus!) I too struggled with deleting broken/unneeded objects, but there is a solution....
Initially, you have to make sure that the object is not "deployed" anywhere in your room. Then you simply point at the object you no longer want in the inventory screen and then press the "Y" button on the left controller. This will pop up an information panel about the object but also a menu with a "Remove item" option. Once you select this, it will be removed from the list after a few seconds.
If it does not go, then the object must be deployed somewhere in your room, and you have to go hunting for it and put it away!
Not sure about points 2 & 3 personally, but think @kzintzi has answered them for you.
Hello ElusiveMartin and Kzintzi; thank you for your help. I appreciate it.
Now, for the Oculus Devs -
Here is one users feedback. I am a complete beginner with Oculus, VR, headset, sensors, and controllers.
While the new "home" idea is inviting, in the end it's implementation has turned out to be just additional complexity and frustration.
Nothing more than yet another game with no instructions or assistance for users to fumble through.
What I would like is a place where I can learn the controllers, buttons, grabs, teleport, all of that without having to play a game, building up experience and solving puzzles. Honestly, simple is ok.
When I grab a book, how can I open it and read it - or is that an option. Beats me.
How do I disable the annoying music? Push this button, bring up this menu point to that bar stand on one foot.....
I would like to create a new home that is a blaster in each hand and a bunch of shooting gallery targets. Can't do that. Only 0 blasters available to use until something happens. Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows.
I have spent several hours touring other users homes, including one where there are hummingbirds, robot parts, game cartridges, blasters, and tons of stuff. I've created my own homes and placed objects. It seems like what I'm playing is VR Interior Decorator.
I think I'll switch off core 2, go back to the original home, and play Lone Echo.
Oculus, you have a store full of games for users of all skill levels. Dont compete with them.
Or at least, make two versions of this new home - home beginner (for beginners) and home regular.
I'm sorry if this comes across as too critical I do appreciate your work and what you want to do here. But, honestly, simple is ok.

part of the problem with what you're describing is that the oculus platform is implemented by Developers in different ways, so that how you read a book/turn pages (for example) will be different each time.
in 10 years time once the standards/accepted UX has been established and noone does it different it'll happen, but the field is still too new.
Though you are more than slightly incoherent, I agree with you Madam, a plum is a terrible thing to do to a nostril.

This stuff should be completely separate, but launchable, from within a more basic VR UI.
