Budget Cuts

I am surprised to see no discussion or review for Budget Cuts in here (apart from a very old thread from 2016). Especially as this seemed to be one of the most anticipated VR games before it was released a few weeks ago.

Anyways, I recommend this game to everyone with a room scale capable setup. It's a game with teleport locomotion. This usually isn't my favorite way of locomotion but here it's implemented in a very clever way and an integral element of the gameplay. The graphics are kept simple in a bit of comic style way. This keeps the system requirements down. Still it doesn't reduce immersion at all.
Immersion is great in this game. It made me crouch on the floor and crawl into corners to hide like no other game has done before. It can get quite tense when your're about to be discovered by the security robots.
Your main goal is to escape our of a robot infested office complex. Most of the time that means to find keycards for secured doors. The puzzles are mostly quite straight forward but some are a bit harder to solve. The game is linear in general but the areas are designed in a way to give you quite a lot of freedom in how you get past enemies - crawling through vents, hiding behind cubicle walls or throwing knives. Your combat options are quite limited though. The focus is definitely more on the stealthy side than action oriented.
The game gets saved at fixed save points only. That can be frustrating sometimes but also helps to keep the tension high.

There have been some reports of bugs out there but I didn't encounter anything major. Overall the game seemed quite polished.

I have a  play area of 2m x 1.5m. I found that sufficient but I'd think it could get a bit annoying with a smaller area.
Play time was around 5h. Definitely worth the 27€.

I'm surprised I don't hear more talk about it. Last I heard is that it was very buggy at launch.

If you have to crawl on the ground then I'm out. I still haven't installed my third camera. I've had it sitting there looking at me for a year :(

Huh, why that? Well maybe this game could be the incentive for you to get it done.  ;)

Because I need to attach the sensor to the back wall and run an extension USB. I'm just really lazy about stuff like that.

That's why I think the Vive lighthouses are way better. Having to wire USB cables around your room is a real pain.
