Having proper refraction is such a huge deal, something that was impossible previously with pure rasterisation.

Anybody remember the GTX 9x0 launch, where the dev running the pc on the projector started jumping ahead because he was excited and Jen-Hsun was crapping on so long about how stereo rendering works. Then they started arguing. Then Jen-Hsun left the stage to berate the guy, but forgot to turn his mic off so we heard it.
The most awkward product launch I've ever seen.

    3:28am.
I just implemented a digital differential analyzer in C++ for a 2D rendering sandbox that I'll be using in a class in 8.5 hours.
Hopefully they'll tell us the price/release date soon so I can get some sleep before work.

Link for the Geforce 2080Ti, priced $1,199? That's a rip off if it's that price. I'd say $799 sounds right for the Geforce 2080Ti and for the Geforce 2080 $599..

Yeah, $1,199 is too much for me, I'll hold tight a little longer.

RTX off - still looks bloody good to be honest.

Maybe graphics are too good - concentrate on decent, imaginative gameplay.

At the current exchange rate, that's only around $100 more than I paid for my Note 8 phone. I use my gfx card far more than I use my phone. :)
(Of course in australia it will cost far more than the exchange rate)

I could have written a ray tracer from scratch in the time this presentation has taken.

I will write it off as a business expense. so a 2080Ti it is.

See, I told you those prices were optimistic. Nvidia cashing in on the mining crazies! Those prices are high and will be even a bit higher with third party builders like MSI, Asus, evga etc. Then the price will jump up by a 100 or 200 due to mining.
