What are the factors to consider/level of complexity for making an emulator/shim of OVR SDK 0.7>

To support older VR titles that are part of the Virtual Reality industry's history, I think it would be wonderful to have a shim or emulator that allows you to play older OVR SDK titles using the current Oculus Runtime.

What are the pitfalls and things to consider to create this?

    Hey there,
I have literally no idea for your questions (sorry ^^), but I think the easiest way to play old VR apps would be harassing the devs to make it compatible with the current Rift (or give away the source code for someone else to make it compatible).
    Current VR results imo:
    - Great small apps. Great ports of bigger games.
    - Great VR-specific features. Not enough showcased!!!
    - Too many actors in the industry, the market is totally broken.

My hopes for VR next gen:

    - Better ratio between visual quality and power needs. No more godrays and less SDE.
    - Full Body Tracking.
