I bought a Rift and then went to Best Buy and bought a "compatible" desktop.

AMD Ryzen 5 2400G Processor, 8 GB, AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card and the HDMI won't connect on my headset. Suggestions?

    I believe you need a minimum of 970 on graphics card to run Oculus.

    the Rx 580 isn't a problem as I had a rx480 on a desktop that worked , ( removed stupid comment about laptop )thanks Richooal for pointing that out

    Do you mean that the 3 USB connections in the oculus setup show okay, but the HDMI does not?
    Have you run the compatibilty checker? (     https://ocul.us/compat-tool    )

    Wow not sure how I thought he wrote laptop , my bad , them ap per my original comment make sure you are connected to the correct GPU and not the onboard GPU on the motherboard.

    Make sure if your motherboard has a HDMI port you aren't using that. The 2400G does have an integrated GPU, but it won't work with the rift. You need to use the HDMI port on the RX580.
