Oculus not recognising my new hard drive.

Ive just bought a 500GB flash drive (a SAMSUNG T5), but when I try to add the drive the Oculus software under SETTINGS and GENERAL, it comes up with the following message...

"An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later. (OVR97854392)

If this issue continues, please visit Oculus Support to get help"

I can see the new drive on my Folders and can access it no problem from evey other package.

Ive set the permissions to ALL for EVERYONE.

Hope someone can help.

Oooooooh, the portable SAMSUNG T5 with a USB 3.1 connection?

A random thing to try would be switching your type of connection that your drive has to your computer (i.e. if you're using USB 3.1 to USB 3.0, use the USB 3.1 to USB 3.1 connection and vice-versa).

Idk how well Oculus would work with external drives though. I feel like you can do it (or that someone has), but seeing as it'll be using your USB controllers to move data it'll be taking up bandwidth that your sensors and HMD need (which could mean that the Oculus software is just blocking it from use in an effort to not have to deal with bandwidth optimization).

Though, this is just my guess. If someone has tried/uses an external drive for their Oculus game data, hopefully they can chime in.
