To me it sounds like a loose cable, but IDK.
Hey jlhopwo, your
disconnect issue may be just a loose cable but there are a few other
things you should check. Does moving the Rift cable and/or headset
seem to cause the issue? This would indicate it is likely an issue with the headset/cable. I
also recommend removing the cable from the headset and check to see
if any pins appear bent or damaged. To remove the headset cable,
you'll need to remove the facial interface first. Instructions on
removing the headset cable are available here
https://support.oculus.com/1114691701909297.
If you're using any kind of adapters or extension cables with your
headset, please remove them and connect them directly to your PC
without any adapters. Also make sure that none of the USB power
settings in Device Manager are enabled and try different USB ports to
see if there is any change. If you're still having issues, please
create a support ticket at https://support.oculus.com
so we can help you further. Thanks! -Rick
