Halo Master Chief Collection...on PC?

Seems so and it's even going to be on Steam.... very interesting change of direction by Microsoft.

The PC version of Halo: MCC will come in stages, with each game released individually, in chronological order, rather than all of them together in one big bundle. That means Halo: Reach will be first, followed by Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4. 343 Industries said that staggered scheduled will enable it to ensure that each game is "right"—emphasis theirs—with PC-standard features including FOV sliders, 4K resolution and ultrawide monitor support, adjustable framerates, and remappable keys. Beyond their initial launch, the games will "evolve and grow over time with community input," Microsoft said.

Is it like a remaster where they will be upgrading the graphics xD? I mean I remember Halo, and it had decent ones - but today - they are just... bad XD hahaha. But OMG I love the games soo much <3<3 I cant wait to play them on PC.

Yea, I'm in the same boat. It's funny, the trailer came on auto for me from another vid I was watching. I was only half paying attention. I was like yea yea another xbox halo game re-release or something. I saw the IS coming to PC part and my jaw hit the floor...then the Steam Logo flashed at the end and I literally yelled get the F outta here. I thought I was getting trolled or it was fan made. Had to make sure it was on official channel and double check that it wasn't april 1st.

But yea I actually have not played a Halo since Halo 3. I am extremely excited to go back and revisit them with a mouse and to play Reach and some of the other games that were well regarded. All I can say is, I'm a fan of Phil Spencer.

It says in their press release 4k resolution. I would assume they are going to at least give them a touch up.
They did this about 8 years ago. I hope they touch it up again... would be sick.

I loved Halo, and Bungie's original work on this. I stopped after Halo 2 since I was moving out of gaming in general around that time. But his PC bundle will definitely become part of my collection.

@zenbane you are in for a treat!. Mechanically Halo is the perfect FPS imo and generally each one gets better (not counting ODST) (that said i am coming from it as an FPS using a controller point of view, and it just works so well on a pad, no idea about KB/M)

the multiplayer on it is really good esp the co-op campaign but even the deathmatch is well balanced, and the story engaging for the most part. Halo Reach is up there with the best of them and that one is coming 1st, and again for the most part the level design is good.

IF I had some negatives..... whilst the levels are good for the most part, the "library" is dull as hell (but you will have seen that for yourself) and also releasing them each individually as paid titles means i am out. i would probably buy "the collection" but having been there done them all, I aint buying each one singly.  I get that it means not having to wait, but, they could still sell as a collection but released the games for free as they are made if that was the real reason (like a season pass)...

(oh and you can give ODST a miss... imo that was the weak point of the franchise. It was only even meant to be a DLC for halo 3 and not a separate title and it shows..... Halo Reach and Halo 4 are the stand out titles).

I just hope Halo 5 also comes to PC. it would be strange having the entire series apart from 1. The is the only halo title i have not played having given the XB1 a miss.

My understanding is It's basically going to be a season pass. You will buy the collection and then they will release games as they get done converting them to PC games. Now we know why Microsoft stepped in and put a stop to the Halo modding project awhile back.   :#

I really liked Halo on the PC once I got the widescreen and high res fixes working.

There was something kind of refreshing about putting some of the more involved games to one side and have a little fun with a game that emphasised the S in FPS. Was very nicely done.

The MCC on the XBX is just fantastic looking on a big 4k HDR tv, so i assume all the same updates and features will be in the PC version, assuming PC owners have 4k HDR monitors, i use a 43in 4k HDR monitor for my PC but HDR on the PC seems to be a mixed bag and is not as straight cut as the consoles make it.....but 4k alone in the MCC is worth the price, it should even look good for those still playing on old ancient 1080p screens. ;)

Halo PC ( also known as custom edition due to map support ) was very well done. Spent years playing it even beta tested a lot of other ppls creations. Yoyorast Island, Wartorn Cove 1 2 3....loads of fun even though I sucked at it....until I got a rocket launcher or a tank...then EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING died. LMAO!!!!!!!

When Halo 2 came out for pc it was a disaster. Controls were screwed up and it was glitchy as hell. It died and no one went back to it.

Lets hope that MCC for PC will not repeat the same mistakes.

The first Halo was fantastic on PC, and was the only version to have online multiplayer too I think..? Very addictive, especially Oddball.

Around the same time I was playing that I was also playing Freelancer, another fantastic game published by Microsoft. They also did Dungeon Siege around the same sort of time too I think. That was back in the day when Microsoft published decent games for the PC, how times have changed :(

Old bump but Halo Reach came out yesterday. They gave the option to buy just reach for 10 bucks or the collection for 39.

So is Halo Reach the first Halo? I just looked on Steam and it says the others are coming later? How have some people played Halo 1 and 2 on Pc because I don't see them anywhere on Steam? What order do they need to be played in?

Halo was was certainly on PC (I still have the disc) but I'm sure I had to by a 360 to play Halo 2 (and Fable 2), but can't honestly recall it being on PC.
(reading  @Digikid1 comment - maybe that is why I never had it on PC!)
I really enjoyed playing Halo PC!

So is Halo Reach the first Halo that's just redone and what order do you play them in? The others are not even out on the Pc according to Steam.

Yes, Reach is the first one completed, and the rest will be released in 2020. Master Chief Collection and Reach are sitting at 1 and 2 on the Steam sales chart. I think there were upwards of 200,000 concurrent players yesterday.

Yea this. Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary is the first Halo redone and it will be made available. They just did Reach first for PC then are going to start jumping on the old ones. I'm guessing Halo 1 will be next.

So is each one going to be £6.99? When I looked a few minute ago it showed Halo 2 & 3 been £29.99 if the bundle isn't purchased, but when I refreshed the page it showed each one will be £6.99? So which is it £6.99 for each or £29.99 if I don't purchase the bundle?

Weird when I just type Halo into Steam I see the list of Halo 2 3 4 at £29.99 each now, but not available yet? I just wanted to buy Halo Reach for now, but I don't want to be paying £29.99 for each if this pricing is correct?

Edit: No matter. I just found this.

Halo: The Master Chief Collections received its PC price tag

Pre-orders for the PC release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection have just gone live on Steam, revealing the price tag Microsoft's Halo collection, both individually and as a set.

Halo Reach is due to release on PC on December 3rd, arriving on Steam for £6.99 in the UK and $9.99 in the US. The full Master Chief Collection, which includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Reach and Halo 4, will cost £29.99 in the UK and $39.99 in the US on Steam. Each game will also be available for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

At the time of writing, all other Halo games in the Master Chief collection are incorrectly priced at £29.99 on Steam, the same price as the full Master Chief Collection. This mistake will likely be fixed soon.

Reach is not the first one made (4th actually, not counting ODST), but since it was made as a prequel, it is the first chronogically in the story line.  Know that the first couple have a bit dated mechanics like no sprint, so it will be a bit weird going to them after, but you can definitely play them in the order they are released on PC.

Bought it just before release and it'll be one of the few pancake games I'm going to play through again, nice to know high-res and widescreen are there without having to install the fixes. I've only tested it works without getting into the option properly but there seemed to be just a few preset detail levels rather than full graphical customization, hopefully that'll be enough.

Another pancake game I'm looking forward to is Age of Empires 4.

There is an issue with one thing. The anti cheat that comes with it thinks that Asus Aura is a cheating device. You have to find a special command to disable Asus Aura before you run the game.
