Hi guys, since we now know that Valve Index and Rift S will be released very soon, I was curious to see where everyone in the community currently stands on their next purchase.
I've tried to give as many options as possible below and included bundles with Quest + Rift S and Quest + Valve Index since I'm guessing many in the community will be buying more then one HMD just as I plan to myself.
UK: England - Leeds - - RTX 2080 - Rift CV1 & Rift S - Make love, not war - See you in the Oasis!
Which VR HMD will you buy next? - Rift S - Valve Index - Quest etc 120 votes

Anything is subject to change, but certainly leaning very strong to it.

I’m also happy with my Oculus Go. Esp for media, web browsing, quick VR fixes, and it’s soooo handy/compact for travel. I don’t think I will upgrade my Go until mobile VR has enough power to handle more sophisticated flight sims (eg. Xp11) and Google Earth VR.
Custom built gaming desktop; i9 9900k (water cooled) oc to 5ghz, gtx 1080 ti (from my old AGA), 32 gb 3000hz ram, 1 tb ssd, 4 tb hdd. Asus ROG Maximus xi hero wifi mb, StarTech 4 port/4 controller sata powered usb3.0 pcie card, Asus VG248QE 1080p 144hz gaming monitor, Oculus Rift cv1 w/2x sensors. Vive Cosmos, currently work in progress.
I'm about 70% sure I'll be getting the Rift-S (or is that 30% unsure).
But I'll vote when I get more details... rather than voting that I need more details.
Sorry to be so complex.
Edit: I voted for the Quest cos that's pretty much a definite... can't change votes later to Quest + Rift-S can we!
Also quite sure im getting Rift-S ... Index, need to learn more.
Oculus Rift 2 (CV2)
It would be incorrect for me to vote "Undecided - Need more details"

They won't be positioning that much against the Quest if both Odyssey headsets are anything to go by lol
Well you never know, perhaps if we EVER get allowed to leave the EU Samsung might sell them here in the UK

A good point @bigmike20vt - you would have thought if the Samsung/Oculus relationship was still good they would have announced support. But by the sounds of it the GearVR community will be cut loose. Though this is still early and things change. As we kn ow there are a considerable number of GearVR apps that are not available on Go - so things could become fluid!

I would not be so sure. But anything can change as you say.
There were a number of questions from other attendees about the issue with International sales, and they seemed to confirm that Enterprise sales were not an issue moving forward. As you say, the consumer approach may not be their "positioning"! I think you may see announcement about other manufacturers taking this view.

Even though I have been waiting for better spec'd headset I am not immediately drawn to the Index. The reason I am excited for the Index is that it probably means Valve is releasing content.

I was just curious and thought it was a good idea to have a poll that showed what HMD's people were considering buying next. It looks already from the comments that a lot of people are interested in Quest and Valve Index and I find it interesting nobody has even mentioned the Vive pro or Pimax yet, which were both ridiculously priced.
That's why in the main "Valve Index" thread on these forums I disagree with people saying Valve Index is going to cost £1000 or more because Valve has already seen that Pimax/Vive Pro don't sell at those ridiculous prices. That's why I
feel that the Valve Index FULL bundle has to be in the region of £600-£700 and no more, otherwise people won't buy it.
Edit: As for my vote, it's an easy choice for me, I choose Quest because Oculus make quality products and it's the obvious choice for playing Beat Saber on a wireless HMD.
And then I choose the Valve Index as for me it's a full complete package that ticks all the boxes and doesn't appear to have any floors, plus I'm hoping for a Half Life VR game to be included with the purchase and I really want to play Stormland with 135° FOV and knuckle controllers.
And then I will feel like I have upgraded my Rift experience for the next year or so until Rift CV2 comes out which will definitely be my next purchase after these two.
I'm just happy I went to Casino last night and won £500 on roulette, I started with £50 and I literally just did 1st 12, 2nd 12 all night and I was winning 8/10 spins. Was such a good night so that £500 is going straight towards my next purchase.
