Tyriel Wood's initial impression and graphic comparison. Looking like a winner to me.

MRTV initial review impressions. He raved on it a bit more than he usually does about products. People are going to be triggered that he put it in the sun though lol.

Hmm, I'm about to order GearVR, because my new S10+ has the 855 processor which is nearly twice as fast as the Quest. And S10+ comes with 512GB (and same price as a 2080 Ti, gotta love Samsung), but it only has one "hand".

The res is close to Quest, and S10+ uses amoled. Anyone knows if GearVR really sucks compared to the games and apps available for Quest? Is the power of 855 a waste in GearVR?

You dont really get a "hand" for say - its more of a remote. You might get use of the faster chip - you just wont have access to the same games that Quest or Rift S will be offering there for - it might be a "waste" for what the product is aim for. On the other hand - (all games?) that work for the GO should work for the Gear.

Quest by all means would be a better value for what you are getting even if it comes with a slower chip.

Thanks, my thoughts too, well most of all I'd like to use it for Netflix, if the res is ok, but it would be great with some Quest-like games too, guess I'll try to thoroughly check out the GearVR store tonight  o:) GearVR is just 100 bucks, but I don't want to buy a paperweight  😄

I used my GearVR twice and threw it in a drawer. Not a fan, at all. The controller tracking is really sub par and I had problems with it always losing orientation. I didn't like how I felt like I was looking down a tube or something in it, I did not enjoy it for movies.

I hope Quest is better than that or I'll be returning lol. It should be since they said it's on par with the Rift which I can deal with.

Part 2 and he has the first Through the Lens I've seen at 9:27. Looks great. Colors really seem to be popping. Also added to first post. Really looking forward to my Quest.
