Stuck downloading update

I've tried two devices now, on two networks.
Both have got stuck downloading the device update during setup. The blue progress bar almost reaches the end but then it just stops.
Anyone else experienced this? Any solution?
I've tried rebooting, it just goes back to the downloading update screen...

    Running Android Pie. Pixel 2.
I really don't think it's anything to do with the phone. The problem is on device.
As soon as it learned my WiFi it started the download and then just hangs. The blue bar never fills.

Same here. But I think it is while the setup procress. That means the headset is updating infos while the setup. Just go through it to the end on your phone.

Same here, it's been stuck with the updating screen for ever. My phone app wont let me finish setup , in the middle of it , it says that he can't find the headset, even though in the main menu it clearly says the headset is connected to the phone.  I'm wondering if I need to do factory reset.

I am running into this as well.  Tried with both stock iPhone X and iPad.  Have done multiple factory resets and tried on multiple wifi routers. Not sure what to do.  Just stuck on downloading screen with bar at 50% and phone first says "something went wrong try again" and then I get a headset did not connect message.  Frustrated here....

I figured out my issue.  Must be something with my home network (maybe firewall?).  I had it connect to the hotspot on my phone and it seems to be working now....

I had the same issue and fixed it. I had my phone on my cellular network and if you are like me, you might have more than one home network. Make sure the network connection you choose for the Quest is the same wifi network your phone is on at the time of the setup. It actually worked on the cellular network up until the update, so it can fool you.

I hope this helps some of you out.

On a side note, took me FOREVER to give you guys this answer. Their servers were throwing "too many requests" (429) when trying to login. Guess launch day for 2 products overran their services a bit.

Hey guys. first post/comment. first vr user. Having the same problem. Using Iphone X latest iOS, have tried multiple different 5Ghz networks along with cellular. have done multiple factory resets, FC App and reopen, uninstall app and reinstall, and any combination. Update always starts at 50%, and never moves above that. one time it moved above it up to 63% and then restarted at 50 without any notification or explanation. have left it sitting approx 1 hr without any changes and is still at 50%. Internet is running well at 14ms ping and 250~ mbps download, 30~ mbps upload.

Any help is much appreciated, highly frustrated at the moment.

I can’t help with your problem but just wanted to say, I’m also on iPhone X with latest iOS and the Quest updated without a problem. I did just see that iOS 12.3.1 was released yesterday so I’m now updating to that. But this is after my Quest updated on launch day.

If you have an Android phone make sure it's at least 6.0.

I have a galaxy s6 with android 7.0 and i have the problem too. Could it be a firewall setting on my router? My phone is connected to the same network, but it just won't accept the password in the oculus app.

As I said above: Just finish the setup on your phone. Don't look through the lenses. This "update" is not a firmwareupdate, it means updating the setup infos.

It won't allow me to finish the set up on my phone, it says something went wrong when i try and enter my wi fi password in the Oculus App. It's 100% the correct password.

Okay, so I’m stuck too and I’m so frustrated. It won’t let me complete the setup on my app (iPhone XR, newest iOS) where I’m stuck trying to connect my left controller, which doesn’t respond to a confirmed working battery. I’m stuck doing this while a firmware download is also stuck. I’ve tried rebooting, factory resetting (from both app and directly from headset), and nothing works. Everything I’ve tried leaves my stuck in the same place during setup and at 50 or 99 percent download of firmware. I had submitted a ticked and am yet to get a reply.
