    May 21 2019 is 3 months (and a couple of days), not 6.

    The Rift-S was announced in March, but the release was May.

    Ok yes you are correct, but the hardware is not the issue. It is using the same backbone and software and ecosystem of the original Rift and CV1 devices.  That software is years old.  

    Even still, 3 months after the official consumer launch is more than enough time.  In the tech world that is still a very long time considering today's landscape.  However this has devolved into a conversation on what is an acceptable timeframe to not be considered an early adopter and has completely deflected from the very real and very detrimental issues that users are facing--as is the normal with every Oculus product thread both here and on reddit.  It is irrelevant.

    It doesn't matter if someone is upset because their purchase is unusable.  It doesn't matter how long they have owned the product.  It doesn't matter that posters here and on reddit get butthurt because someone has made a complaint against their holy and sacred company.

    What matters is that someone has posted an issue and needs assistance with it.  So please if you can't help with that issue or have nothing relevant to their issue to offer, I am begging you to please stay out of the conversation.  It is unbelievably difficult to find solutions to problems when threads get completely derailed like this.  Even the solution I offered is burried somewhere a page 2 or so in the middle of a bunch of useless arguing.

    You are completely missing the point.  They purchased the system and are having issues.  That gives them the right to be frustrated when it does not work as advertised.  After searching for hours/days on the internet and submitting tickets to Oculus support and waiting days for a response that is irrelevant to their issue--if they receive one at all, they finally knuckle up, register here and make a post about their issue, in a last-ditch desperate attempt looking for help and then get mocked, ridiculed and lambasted for being at their wits-end trying to find a solution.  $550 is a big chunk of money for most people--to the point they need to save for a great deal of time to make the purchase only to be hit with everything I just listed above.

    I am a member of a number of different forums and am an experienced in tech troubleshooting.  I've been around the block several times.  I have NEVER, seen such a hostile environment like this in all my almost 50 years in ANY community and I've been a part of plenty drama filled scenes.  It is the very reason why so many issues go unreported and unresolved because most people would simply quit and return the product for a complete refund rather than deal with it.  It was the same with the Rift and just continues with the Rift-S.

    When someone is extremely frustrated and at the end of the rope, the last thing they need when they finally post looking for a resolution is a bunch of people calling them down for purchasing a product that is advertised for it's ease of use and simple cross-compatibility.  They aren't attacking your beloved company, they are simply lost as to why it doesn't work as advertised and need a little help.

    This entire forum needs a complete overhaul and much stricter moderation.

    Very true rednekcowboy77, but as an Oculus veteran (original kickstarter) I AM attacking the company and I could not care less what the fanboys think. These types of problems have plagued Oculus products from day one, and they seem incapable of improving since the same things keep happening every time they release.

    The Rift S may have been announced around then, but was not available to ship until around May 23rd.
    They have only been in the field for little over three months.
    Not that it really matters though.

    The fact still remains that every time Oculus forces you to update the software without any choice on the matter (most times they can't even be bothered to tell you what's changed in the new version), you are left praying they didn't break something major this time. Not just for the Rift-S but also for the CV1.

    Your right it does then we would not have to deal with people like yourself throwing tantrums and insulting people indiscriminately.

    OK, where have I attacked?  Where have I not provided solutions?  Where have you provided solutions instead of trolling?

    This is my third or fourth post now trying to explain to you how new people truly feel when they finally post here.  They aren't posting to attack Oculus, they aren't, as you put it "screaming at the world instead of seeing reason," they are simply very frustrated that something advertised for it's ease of use isn't working for them as advertised.  They have spent hours/days scouring the web searching for answers.  They've submitted tickets to support that they've, most often, never even received a response to.  Then they come here and are ridiculed and attacked for posting their frustrations.

    Can you not understand where they are coming from?

    That is simply because it is still the same software from your kickstarter days with just patches upon patches.  It has never been re-written, improved or made efficient.  This is why a patch applied will break more than the fix it was implementing.

    OK, post the whole posts and not just my responses then or, if you are going to go on reddit, post a link to the discussion instead of just grabbing one of my postings on reddit out of context--or even going so far as to completely manufacture complete postings altogether--either properly quote and provide actual links or quit manufactuing complete falsehoods.  Even with a good number of those posts that actually have a partial basis in reality, I go on to provide a solution to the issue but you neglected to quote that posting.  YOU ABSOLUTELY AND UNEQUIVEQUALLY ATTACK ANYONE THAT HAS A LEGITIMATE ISSUE on these forums almost every single time.  This thread alone, you have done nothing but attack me, even though I have tried several times to have a legitimate conversation with you.

    OK, so I am the one that derailed the thread but you, admittedly, are the one posting about something completely unrelated to the topic......

    As for your your accusations, anyone can check my posting history if they chose to do so and will see immediately that the majority of my posts are pleading with people like you to stop aggressively attacking people and derailing threads.  Consequently that is the exact reason why yours and many of the "volunteer" mods and regulars here have their accounts under review.  Enjoy your trolling why you can.

    FYI, from one of the threads you posted saying I was attacking someone--the funny that post, someone actually quoted me just to say they gave up with their Rift-S because of a plethora of postings derailing any thread where people have issues and people like you making fun of them and trolling them because of their issues.  Just one example of many on how you and your volunteer mod friends here are costing Facebook money and then you have a hard time believing that your account is under review??  It doesn't take a genius to figure it our here people.  How much money do you think Facebook has lost due to your attitude here on these forums??

    I really don't care if you and your friends believe me or not but seriously, it's only common sense and all it takes is a couple people making enough noise about how these forums are run to figure out where the problem is--and it's a handful of users that are causing a hemorhage of money leaving Oculus's coffers because of their overly aggressive and uncacceptable behavior.  You all had to know it would come to an end sooner or later.

    The post was completely on topic since it was referencing the growing pains of new electronics and why some patience should be used.
    Which is what the Rift-S is going through now.

    The only one who has been attacking anyone has been you.

    Your doing it right now on another topic with someone else. 

    The real question is why do you keep trying to start fights on an internet forum.

    I am sure Occulis has lost no sales from me...... I am not sure what subliminal godlike power you think I have.
    However your aggressive and offensive posting habits and constant negitive post about Occulus and the Rift-S. Who knows you may have convinced a few folks to leave the forums.
