Well, I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I4PedZvu-Q but you won't actually play with your Touch controls but with an Xbox controller instead.

P.S I only skimmed through this video so if anything looks fishy too you don't do it.

Yes that has what one person has done but have seen a few reddit forums talking about motion tracking for oculus quest, like vivecraft

if you have a minecraft account download minecraft for windows 10, login it then close it. go in your rift and run minecraft from in your rift then you can play it in VR using the touch controllers. this only works with a standard minecraft account for pc not xbox/playstation as these accounts are not compatable.

minecraft for windows 10 will find your rift and will enable VR mode. be warned though every time you play it it crashes 3 to 4 times before it loads the game properly. once in game it wont crash anymore. GoodLuck

I can’t see why not, the cable makes it a quest a rift to. I’m not 100% I haven’t got to cable for it to try. If no answer here try asking on the Minecraft site forums.

Minecraft officially on Quest may or may not be coming, I don't know. However if you have a Quest, you can play Minecraft as PCVR using Oculus Link. I have to check to see if it still works or not (I uninstalled the app used as a test for something else), but if you bought Virtual Desktop for Quest then there is a Sideload version available that should allow you to play Minecraft and your Rift games while unteathered. Note, the sideload version is only for those who have bought the program. And again, I haven't checked to see if that functionality was fixed. Back in June a patch to the store version of Virtual Desktop removed that functionality, and I had to wait until a new version of the Sideload was released to restore it. And I've not checked Minecraft since then.

EDIT: As an update, I just verified that the Sideloaded patch does let you play Steam VR and Rift games. And it does let you launch Minecraft in VR mode. The problem with that is that while Minecraft will launch in VR mode, you'll still be looking at your desktop, thus are unable to actually play Minecraft while unteathered. It is perfectly playable via Oculus Link, and yes it does have motion controls. They are experimental, but they are available.

Works great on link/virtual desktop but I don't understand why the devs are dragging their heels so much on a native version.  Quest is android, they already have an android version, there has to be a way to make it work.  Maybe they were waiting on the gen 2 before pulling the trigger.  Who knows.
