Children of Men. The way Julianne Moore's death scene is filmed, all in one long take, is one of the most impressive things ever committed to film.

Edit: Here's another scene from later in the movie that's also filmed as one long, continuous take. These scenes without cuts make it feel much more intense, like you're actually there. They must be a real pain to shoot, but they're amazing.

Difficult to name just one, but if you guys are twisting my arm I'd have to choose Life Of Brian.

Thought about it for a while.
And it might just come down to 12 Monkeys ( 1995 ) as it left a huge impression on me, and I can still watch it over and over.

    nope cant do it.

Alien, Aliens, Predator, The thing, Terminator 2, Jaws

edit... just reading down the list now and, whilst I was not surprised to see Alien in there... I am very happy to see some love for The Thing, I was not expecting that.  I am a huge John Carpenter fan actually and could have done a list of just his stuff
