Issues with Oculus Link + SteamVR

First off, my specs:
Windows 10 64bit
CPU: Intel i7-4790 @ 3.6 GHz, Quad-core
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970
RAM: 16 GB
Some notes:
-I'm using a USB C to USB A adapter for the Link cable
-My VR games and SteamVR are installed on an HDD

Setup went through smoothly and had no issues detecting the headset. Rift Apps do work perfectly through Link, but SteamVR is a nightmare. The framerate usually sits below 30FPS, sometimes going higher for short periods and other times basically dropping to 0 with the image tearing up aswell. Some SteamVR games like Google Earth VR and Vivecraft work fine, but the SteamVR home and The Lab in particular are unplayable. The ironic thing is, when I stream using Virtual Desktop those games work flawlessly. Is this just an issue with the Link beta or is there something I can do to fix it right now?

Things I've tried:
-Reconnecting and restarting Quest + PC
-Turning down the resolution in SteamVR (which didn't seem to have any visual effect actually)
-Turning off super-sampling in SteamVR
