Some buzz about this over the past week. It's being made in Unity for Oculus Quest by a single dev. Should be ready soon!

If this gets completed, it will definitely get installed on my Quest!

So this is a fan-made homage to the original game?

I'd love to play it, but even if it's non-profit, something tells me Sony are going to stamp on it unless it's sufficiently different. Well I'm not really that knowledgeable on the legalities of these things but whatever happens, the developer deserves respect!

Yep, it's a fan-made "concept" based on Death Stranding.

While this would be sweet, Sony doesn't share. They'll squash it, once or before it gets too popular!!

Jesus, people are very tolerant of potato graphics with the Quest, all in the name of wireless...

Graphics are important, but content is king. There are recent flat/vanilla PC games released with intentional subpar graphics, like Children of Morta; which received many awards and has a high rating on Steam:

For VR, look at Pixel Ripped. An intention low-graphics game for PCVR that received multiple awards as well.

Don't get me wrong, I Iove good graphics (e.g. Lone Echo), but I will take "content" over "visuals" any day of the week.

There's also a big difference in my 'tolerance' for graphical quality, between games and apps from large development houses and single individuals working on their projects.

I think that's probably the case for anyone who has, or who is, working on their own passion project, they know how much work is involved with these things.
