Is there any form of ETA for when the oculus link recognizes 3.1?

Right now we have it where it accepts a 3.0 connection and has a transfer rate of 1.8-2.2 gb/s, which is a far cry from 10 gb/s, which is what their official cable is rated for. I have no problems in waiting for the software to be upgraded, but my question is are we looking at 2-6 more months before it goes to 3-5gb/s, or more than a year?

Apparently John Carmack who originally made the claim he could achieve the maximum capabilities of 3.1 has stepped down as Chief Technology Officer at Oculus. So it may have impacted work on this.

ahhh, that's unfortunate. I would have been fine with even 30-40% capability..

I'm curious are you saying if you have a USB 3.1 the quest won't work with it ?  Or are you saying it does work with it, but you want the full speed of 3.1 rather then 3.0 ?

Link works on either my USB A 3.1 Gen 1 or USB C 3.1 Gen 2 ports. The Quest just can’t yet utilise the full capability of 3.1.
