I was thinking if you had some of the sound enhancements on, it could cause distortions with some music thats all.  Mine does it a bit with loud base sounds, but thats because I have boosted the audio.

Is it under warranty ? if so open a ticket see what O say.
The only thing I can suggest is try another USB port - but I would imagine you have already tried that.

Yes but the warranty is with Oculus, and I think its two years !

How Long Does Coverage Last? This limited Warranty continues for one (1) year from the date of purchase or delivery of the Product, whichever is later (the “Warranty Period”). However, if you purchase the Product from within the EU or EFTA, the Warranty Period shall be two (2) years.

I've had on/off popping/crackling on my CV1 since forever. It comes and goes with software updates. From what I've gathered it can be an issue with USB. If you switch around where you've connected your gear, the issue may disappear (or not).

Being under warranty does not entitle you to a refund.  How long have you had it.
Open a support ticket - talk to Oculus; and they might send a replacement.
I would imaging PCWorld will tell you to contact Oculus anyway.
