Displayport not detected (Rift S)

I have done all the troubleshooting steps from the support section for this issue numerous times. I have not been able to use the headset on two different PC's one with an AMD and one with NVIDIA graphics cards.
Both systems met all minimum and recommended specs.

Here are the steps I have taken to try and fix the issue.

1) I uninstalled and reinstalled the oculus app. I plugged my Rift S into the usb 3.0 PCIE inateck card as recommended by oculus in the past. Tried with, and without inateck drivers. I tried all my onboard motherboard usb 3.1 ports. I unplugged my usb for 20 seconds, then plugged back in. Then plugged in displayport after waiting 10 more seconds.

2) I plugged in my DisplayPort, it goes green for 3 seconds, then goes back to infinite loading circle. Unplugging it and waiting 10 seconds, then plugging it back in does nothing …

3a)  Restarted my PC and now at device manager

3b) all usb devices have been checked and this power saving feature disabled

4) Uninstalled rift s usb hub, scanned for hardware changes, and waited 3 to 5 minutes

5) Green usb status, displayport goes green for a few seconds, then back to a white loading circle, headset screen never turns on. Aka this screen is all i ever see. If i see any other screen it’s only  because I click continue for the 3 seconds the displayport is green upon replugging it back in, then i am stuck on “checking sensors” forever

Extra stuff i tried on the side

  • After plugging in displayport and having it go back to a loading circle, i decided to click continue in this part to see if it could do a sensor check — it gets to the sensor check menu and stays there forever, as we are stuck on the displayport stage still.

  • Installed oculus_driver.exe from C:\programfiles\oculus\oculus_support\ and same results

Pictures that may help.

  1. This is after uninstalling rift s usb hub and waiting a few minutes

  1. Pictures below this line, are right after step 1) then step 2) from above BEFORE RESTART

c) picture below this line are from replugging in displayport after restarting my pc, and reconnecting the usb

friend, EXACTLY the same thing happens to you then me, I have investigated in forums, I have tried all possible solutions, and it seems that the problem is software, many say that I use a hud usb3 with external power, because apparently it is not coming Enough electricity to the Oculus Rift s, or maybe it's just a software problem or incompatibility with our ports, the truth I have no idea, and it seems that the Oculus do not have idea too

My thoughts as well. I didn't feel that there was anything wrong with my PC's hardware that could cause the issue, but when talking to Oculus support it was always them directing it toward my PC and not that the headset or software was at fault. Extremely annoying, I just want to know if they actually plan on fixing this issue or just letting their consumers waste their money. Honestly, they have lost my business.

yoyoyoyoyoyo I have been having the same problem but I think I managed to fix it. Apparently, Windows Defender does not like oculus. If you go in task manager and end the task of windows defender, I think it should work!

Same problem. I also notice that after the USB cable is connected I don't get the blue light on the front of the Rift as shown in the tutorial. DisplayPort was green when I initially went to set up the headset, but updating the firmware failed, and the DisplayPort has not come green since then. I have orange LED inside the display blinking 2x a second.
