Community Watch Party? Facebook Connect

ZenbaneZenbane Posts: 16,377 Valuable Player
I've attended a few Watch Parties on Facebook for various events. I have to admit, it's pretty fun! With Facebook Connect right around the corner, it might be interesting to watch this in VR with members of this Community.

For anyone interested, post it here. If we get a few folks who want to join in, we can coordinate our Friend's List and time zones.

Any takers?
:)

I'll be watching it in VR, I'm such a miserable so'n'so though so hardly ever go for pre arranged party type stuff... I like spontaneous socialising though (don't know what this says about me), so will be happy to say hello to anyone I recognise! unless I've switched my mic off in which case I'll do one of those timid waves or thumbs up like people do in VR.

Do you get any choice of who's with you within each balcony in Venues? it looks like people may get randomly allocated a space when they enter if the audience is over a certain number. I'd say you could get maybe 30 people on each level before it gets messy. Well, so far there's only been a handful of viewers whenever I've visited so we're always in the same space.

Maybe I'm being optimistic about VR attendees for Connect??? could be just me and you Zenbane in which case I'll make sure the mic is on cos that would be weird otherwise.

I haven't performed an organized Party in Venues yet, so this will be a learning experience in its entirety!

I think we can create a Party within the VR Space itself, outside of Venues. And perhaps Venues will recognize that when we launch it...?

I remember I did a VR Party test with @pjenness a long time ago, when GO was released. We used the Party option that is default in OH. And I used the OH Party option a few times when playing From Other Suns with some of the local community members.

It's been over a year since I tried it though, so who knows lol

Although, I admit that I normally prefer to watch these things on my own, and then just alternate between the Event and this Forum. However, since this is event is happening remotely in its entirety (due to the Pandemic), I figured that now is as good a time as any to attempt a Community watch party.

    :)

I’ll be at work, so I’ll just be catching bits of it as I can on Facebook Live. I might be able to watch the keynote in Venues, since it should be on around my lunch time. I wish they would post the times on the event lineup.

Is anyone will be watching in other mediums like BigSc? You could set password to have invite only party.

So what I'm hearing is... nalex is going to have a bad tummy ache that day, and call in to work sick?
    :p

It's tempting to take the day off, but probably not going to happen. I really want to catch at least the Quest announcement live, but if I miss it, all the videos should be available to watch after the fact.

I guess we're lucky with it starting 6pm BST here. I'd also like to see some times for the various talks @nalex66, I think I'll be dipping in from time to time.
