Hi, I've noticed that MaxVR pegs my cpu (i5-4670) at about 40% simply by being open, even before loading a video. Is this expected behaviour?
Yes it is threaded to utilize multiple cores, It is in a tight realtime loop for rendering. Almost like a game.
Thanks for the answer, is this an area you can optimise and reduce the overheads?
I've tested using normal 2D movies and Big Buck Bunny which was linked earlier, it's Top/Bottom and you can download 1080p and 4k per eye at both 30 and 60fps. At 1080p and 30 fps my cpu usage is ~60%, 1080p at 60fps and my cpu is ~70-80%, it still plays smooth but I start getting a small amount of head tracking judder which I'm assuming is related to the higher cpu usage.
I'm yet to test out the 4k versions but I'm just thinking ahead for CV1 and higher resolutions that needing to have a powerful cpu could become a bit of an issue.

1440p plays smoothly on my i5 4670k with AMD r9 290 OC, notably in 180-panoramic dish which looks superb!

Regarding the seats thing - I'm not sure if its the seats are too "roomy" per se, so much as the scale feels wrong, I feel like Mouse sat in the chair XD
Fab app nonetheless - feel have already got massive value for my money 🙂

I'm not sure what the hell is going on at Reddit. Sorry Dev, I've tried to spread the word for your app (I seriously think it's the best one available for movies), but the Reddit folks just down vote the posts to oblivion and accuse posters of being...you. I guess it's doing more harm than good.
