Holography Redundant

Was reading this story:

I'm wondering if there's any reason why holographic displays wouldn't be made more or less redundant given that these can be so easily simulated with amazing quality - and simulated at stadium scale - and simulated with functionality and flexibility can would be near impossible to replicate in the real world.

So what about other tech that might be effectively outmoded and replaced with VR?

This new tech sounds awesome, and I think it has a place even with immersive headsets.

For example, in the living room setting with a family or friends. It would probably make more sense to have one holographic TV than all sitting there with headsets on. Augmented reality could be killer with holographic projection. Lots of cool applications.

Lysergic acid diethylamide works pretty good. However, you tend to need to be ready to watch something for about fourteen to twenty hours. Can't change channels either. Might get lost for half a day trying to find the fridge.

It's an interesting technology and possibly the only way a real holodeck experience could become possible, physical interaction though is another thing.

This is an interesting upcoming technique into Holography:

Metamaterial flat lens

There will be no need for this when the Rift v20.0 is released in 20 years. Imagine rift + stereo cameras + LIDAR laser scanning to measure distances to walls etc :geek: The rift will be ultra high resolution the size of google glass.

With that, you could apply 3d graphics to what you see in your living room.

But until then, this tech looks neat as well 😄

There is evidence to show that you yourself are fundamentally holographic and time/space provides the back drop of 'this' space. (this dimensional protrusion that we call this universe and this form of differentiation we call linear unidirectional time.) Photonic energies and their expression being tied to that backdrop of fundamentals.

Messing with that, unawares, like children with dynamite looking for fun moments (let's blow some shit up!), might not be the wisest thing to be doing.

You're absolutely correct, let's stay away from the porn.
