I feel like I've tried everything now and I still can't get it to work. I've tried both 0.4.4 and right now I'm on 0.5.0.1.
My hdmi cable recently stopped working so I replaced it with one I had home. At first it worked great. But after reboot it wasn't working. I installed 0.5.0.1 instead and now it worked, but only in Direct Mode which isn't what I want. I then noticed that the rift was working in extended mode, but only after reboot. If I decided to turn off the DK2 display it wouldn't go back on until reboot. I don't know what I've done since then but right now the display is working (I have a blue light) but it isn't detected in Oculus Config. The only change I've made is that I installed new graphics driver (AMD).
Also, it tells me that the DK2 Display is a Generic PNP Monitor...

This is how the OVRService is looking when I restart it manually:

There are known issues with recent AMD drivers. Can you try uninstalling all the AMD drivers and then going back to Catalyst 14.4 (which I believe is the last one that will work with the DK2)?

Hmm, feels like installing old amd drivers was the only thing I hadn't done...
It did the trick though, thanks a bunch!

Glad to hear you got it working.

Well we all are not quite as lucky, This latest runtime is the worst and buggiest release yet, i really feel it should be unnecessary to install an Old video driver set, just causing other issues in the process.
With each Incremental release you break things more and more, On the DK1 SDK 0.3.2 was the last solid release, after that Ive noticed numerous issues, including but not limited to HMD detection Problems, Bad screen Warping or Chromatic distortion is way off or blurry, ect, ect.
Please fix the Detection issues most of all with the Runtime 5.0.1 it breaks everything for me and its really hard to develop or test anything under such conditions, Also potentially shying other adopters from purchase if they test an Oculus with this so called update to the runtime.
Nothing works and detection is a huge problem at the moment for seemingly 80 percent of rift users at the moment, PLEASE fix this soon, as i really need to get back to work on my demo, but sadly cant even get my rift to detect now.
Nothing is impossible, just time consuming.
