Major issue with design of new camera!

Desktop mounted camera. I have no desk to put it on 😞

Please, for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE allow the camera to be unmountable from the stand, with a monitor stand attachment. This is my computer desk:

My issue with the camera is the way it is it will have to sit in front of my monitor and every time i take the rift on and off i also have to move the damn camera from the front of the monitor.

I'm hoping, the camera doesn't need to be directly in front of you so i can sit it off to the side of the monitor or it is detachable.

Who said anything about porn? I honestly thought I was in a forum for chiropractors.

Huh? I was meaning WTH, there is seriously no way that would fit under his desk setup. Also, not sure about the arm straps... might hamper productivity.

The DK2 camera doesn't have to be right in front of you, why would this one?

This is from : http://www.gizmag.com/oculus-rift-interview/38002/

"...It is 360 tracking, all off of a single camera, which is really unique. And that single camera, you just set right down – this doesn't require you to go up and mount things on your walls. You can if you want, and we've actually made that sensor so that you can unscrew it and it has a standard [...] screw hole that you can screw in if you want to mount it. And there will be people who mount sensors in different places."

So no matter what you'll be good.

360 tracking with one camera is obvious for the HMD, but I'm guessing you'll need an additional sensor to deal with controller occlusion. Unless Touch is tracked with the HMD, which would be pretty innovative.
Not a Rift fanboi. Not a Vive fanboi. I'm a VR fanboi. Get it straight.

They did say that the Oculus Touch is tracked by the same camera and you can use multiple cameras if you want.

Personally I am going to get 2 and have one wall mounted in each diagonal corner of my room. 5m x 5m room all cleaned out for my computer and the rift only. Using it with DK2 atm but that camera doesn't do very well tracking that area.

Would like to know if both cameras/sensors will also track the HMD or if additional sensors only track the Touch (and other devices) as the HMD does have 360 tracking with a single camera.

Short answer, Yes. Additional camera sensors will be able to work with each other. There used to be a camera on the HMD - but they later remove it. Everything will be track by a camera sensor. To deal with the occlusion - you will need more than one camera for 360 tracking of the Touch. They will be showing this off at E3.

The HMD will have sensors all around it to better track it all the time, but the Touch will pretty much require another camera to do 360 of the device. All camera sensors will track the pattern from the different devices.
