Need Help, Oculus will not work no matter what I try.

Hit
Honored Guest
After getting a new computer and also getting Windows 10 with it, I've had nothing but issues with the Oculus. My Rift used to work with my old computer (Windows 7) but not on my new one. The only thing it seems to able to do is flash the orange LED for about  minute then turn off.

Whenever I go into the Utility it just says "HMD Powered off, check HDMI connection". I've tried installing older run times, going into firewall, going into compatibility mode and running as admin. If I got into control panel it'll strangely enough notice my DK2 Camera as a device, but not notice my Rift and put it in the unrecognized category. After I trouble shoot it in the device manager it says that the USB Input device and older one and will not work with USB 3.0.

I'll add my diagnostic log here:

DK2 had problems with USB 3.0 controllers. Can you try buying a powered USB 2.0 hub and plug all the DK2 and camera into that?

Would the hub include ports for the HDMI cable?

So you would still plug the HDMI cable directly to the GPU.

I'll show you the issue as I think we're both a little confused.

Yes. You have to use a USB 2.0 port, but it looks like your machine only has USB 3.0 ports, hence the need for a USB 2.0 hub.

Well I'm back and have the hub, I've connected the camera USB to it but the problem is still here, it can't seem to read the HDMI cable out of the Oculus but the camera is still being read as working as it was before.

You need to plug the DK2 USB cable to the hub as well. Can you check that this is plugged into the hub too?

Judging from the log, the HDMI cable could be an issue but I assumed this was not the problem due to the headset working on your old computer.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean as my DK2 doesn't have any USB cables except for the camera?
