It's obvious they have some sort of problem. Maybe it's a simple one, maybe a big one. But if we don't get answers today one way or the other, the cancellations are going to start flooding in.

I prefer to be honest at us saying is going to be delayed or whatever the reason is instead we got 0 information and people are already very mad about this. They know we want the rift so they dont mind how we feeling about this, thats what I think.

But guys really you think they are reading us? dont think so.

Im going to shut up because otherwise they can move my position in queue for July XD

    Hope everything got fixed soon!

If there's no word on this BS from Oculus or any Oculus employees, then HTC have my business. I'm fine with waiting for my April pre order until the first few days of may, but if this keeps going on for people in March or for the fucking KS backers, then it'll be obvious that I won't get mine till June and that I might as well cancel.

None of the big cheeses may be reading these forums, but you can be 100% sure someone is reading and reporting back.

So based off of 2 Palmer's tweets, he says first.. "Shipping update: Kickstarter Rifts will start arriving Mon, pre-orders start shipping mid-week (likely Wed) and will arrive this week too".. then tweets immediately after, saying.. "Stay tuned for future updates, I will give them as soon as possible - this particular update was set in stone just hours ago!" The update he's referring to, which was "SET IN STONE", is that .."Kickstarter Rifts will start arriving Monday, and pre-orders start shipping mid-week (likely Wed) and will arrive this week too". SO, I am certainly going to patiently wait for the remainder of the week. If I get shipping info, and a tracking number with a "this week" delivery date, I will be very satisfied. Still feel like March 28th should have been either the arrival date of the device in my hands (like apple does), or at the very least a shipped out date. So I still feel like that was a bit untruthful. But I will be satisfied, and my excitement will certainly be restored.

Find it odd that people that aren't expecting their rift for months are getting so worked up. Even if there are initial issues, They all be sorted by the time yours are due.

Has anyone seen this yet? Someone is selling a signed Kickstarter Rift. Don't know how real it is -probably fake- but mostly really sad.

The irony to all the lack of communication surrounding this issue, is the fact that Oculus was bought out by the, arguably, largest "social networking" company on earth. #stayintouchfailure

The only person that got a box like that was the kid in Alaska I believe... Probably sold on eBay and the guy that purchased it is selling the box to get some money back.

It's not Ross. He got a normal pre order box instead of the KS edition box.

The signatures are also in different locations.

Eh? What complete silence? They have been updating us.

We shouldn't have to be on twitter or on this forum looking for scraps of information. The order status system doesn't work properly, especially for the many people who didn't have Oculus accounts. There's no way to see even the ballpark shipping estimate from order day if you didn't write it down. They've sent only one email since the order and many people haven't even gotten that. For a big launch from a legit company, we shouldn't have to be looking to tweets to get an idea of what's going on. Also, I might point out that the tweet you quote followed a tweet a few days earlier saying orders would begin arriving Monday. In the absence of other information, people may have wondered if that applied to them. It's just psychology. My order could ship today or it could ship in May. I have NO idea and that's crazy. It's not my intention to start a troll war. I'm just saying that it wouldn't take much from them to stop 99% of this speculation, rumor, and internet anger dead in its tracks.
I've been saying this on here for weeks. And most of the time, I've been flamed for it.

This is the launch of a consumer product. Not a test. Not a dev kit. It's consumer. And consumers expect to be kept informed. Not only haven't we been informed, we've not heard a thing. Most buyers of a consumer product don't check forums or twitter for information. They expect to hear from the company concerned. Not have to hunt out whatever cryptic message Oculus feel like posting on twitter.

Even now, a couple of days past the original launch date of the 28th, most of us have heard nothing since early January. That's simply not good enough.

Kickstarter units will start arriving today, and the first pre-ordered Rifts will start shipping mid-week and arrive soon after. We’re working as fast as we can to get Rifts to customers who pre-ordered. If you pre-ordered, you’ll get an email when your order is being prepped (1-3 weeks prior to shipping) and then another one when your payment method has been charged and your Rift is on its way.

Very odd/careful wording on that listing. Could well be just selling the Box. Doesn't show the CV1 once even though he mentions taking images. Lots of mentions of the CV1 but none actually saying that is what he's selling.

See how long it stays up, I've reported it as suspicious.  At no point do they say they are selling the CV1.

Nope. As I said, I have received one email from them since January. That was the "Your Rift is almost ready to ship" email, which, by the way, has my name wrong and contains the same dead link to my guest order that went out in January. Just saying. Notsram has it exactly right.

Oh, so you *did* receive a recent email, just last week. How is that being silent and not communicating?

I just don't get it, they've been communicating, keeping us up to date, but for some reason people have this idea that they haven't been, including people who got emails just last week, including people who got emails just this week, including people who saw or read about Sunday's tweets.

I didn't think I'd ever say this, but I might just cancel my order.  The early reviews aren't as good as I'd expected, and this complete an utter lack of communication has me very nervous for the future.

    What happens if it breaks?

What if I need replacement lenses? (Something people begged for on DK2 and never got)

What happens when I can't get software to run and need technical support?

Worse still - What if I don't like it and want to return it?  If they can't even ship them, what chance is there that they will be able to process a return??

I can completely forgive the shipping delays if they just explain the issue, but they don't share anything.  The silence borders on dishonesty, and I don't want to be tied to an ecosystem that conducts business this way.  It's not exactly new behavior either.  It's been this way for more than a year.

Spam e-mails that are sent to everyone who checked on the "Send me marketing Stuff." Does not constitute communication.

I didn't check that, they sent that to me and my friends who also didn't check any marketing/newsletter box, I assume because we gave them our email addresses during the order process, and they were sending an email update. Sending an email update to all orders explaining the shipping does indeed constitute communication. If you didn't receive it, maybe check your spam folder, or check to make sure you gave them a valid email address when you ordered.
