Officially no, then. The only laptops that work (officially) are GTX 980 laptops (NOT 980M). The reason is many laptops pass the video output through the processor's onboard GPU which breaks compatibility. Not to mention, they are generally too slow according to the minimum specs for Oculus.
Unofficially... some people report success in detecting the Rift with their laptops. It depends on the laptop. For your laptop, I've heard of G752 with the 980M (again, unsupported) not working over HDMI. Same user claimed it did work over a mini-Displayport to HDMI adapter, suggesting the Displayport connector in that machine is connected directly to the 970/980M GPU.
