Using Oculus Rift to view Samsung Gear 360 video.

I have checked all over the place. I have even called Samsung.  I have a Oculus Rift.  I also have a Samsung Gear 360 camera.  I downloaded a test video from the camera to my Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge.  I looked fine, however when I tried to view it on my Oculus Rift, it came up a movie screen image.  Is there a way to get VR to from the video of the Gear 360 camera to view on the Oculus Rift?  If there is a location to find this on here, I apologize I couldn't find it.

Thanks.

Yes, you have to download the Gear 360 software on your pc. Connect your camera to your pc via usb, dump the file into the gear360 software, convert it. Now the file is viewable

Don't convert it on your PC, just save it to your S7 and move it to your User account's video directory and change the filename (before the extension, .mp4) and add _360 on the end. Once that's done it'll show up in oculus video under my videos and play properly.
