best currently available Rift games?

Hi guys, any chance we can get a sticky topic with a list of the best Rift experiences currently available (both demos and playable games)?

For me so far War Thunder is where it's at, but it is VERY challenging. The fact that you are looking mostly at things that are far away helps I think.

The native support for Rift in War Thunder is pretty good now, though it does have some major flaws. I found that going into "PostFX" settings in game and turning the sharpness sliders to Max made the world much clearer but this might vary from person to person.

Vireio 3D doesn't seem to get along all that well with my brain, I've always found that most 3D stuff (movies and whatnot) give me double vision and bother my eyes, so I think I'm in the minority here but still so far I haven't found any games/demo's without native support to be very enjoyable. TF2 is nice and Museum of the Microstar is impressive. I'm looking forward to eventually getting into DiRT 3 with the Rift 😃

COZ!!
I agree with all the demos mentioned, they are all great. But by far my favorite demo and the game I spend the most time in is COZ. The swinging mechanic and the thruster work so well, its a great time to just move around the little world. I can't wait to play this when a full game of it is released

What game is this sorry? I did a google search and so far nothing is coming up.

I had never heard of thos before, but from TheRiftList:

A really good full game but requires tridef 3d is metro last light. The game it self has very little hud and the quest log is a clip board in game so it shows up perfect. The game is really cool with the added 3d its pretty epic. As for games that have native support.

Cinema's:
Vr Player (allows you to watch 2d movies and 3d movies also youtube using the rift)
Vr Cinema3d (Great to get the hole theater effect but having ot convert files to avi kinda sucks)

Games with Native support:
Qbeh
Porton Pulse
BuzzWords
BouncerVr
Gravity Well

First person:
Ocean Rift
MotM
Blue Marble
FantasyNight(cool to look at the fire works 😄 )
TitansOfspace
Parrotcoaster
MineCraft

Shooters:
Hl2 & Ep 2
TF2
TimeRifters (really neat idea)
Aurumancer
ZombiesOTH

Flight:
First Law
Delta Draconis
War thunder
God Factor Wingman(haven't really played this one tho)
Heli island

Horror:
AloneinTheRift
If a Tree Screams

Music Visual:
VisiR
Frequency Domain
greeble
SoundSelf

Porn/Nude:
Bathing Beauty (really short demo but cool)
3D-Heaven (3d body scans)
Yunalus (No nudity but I think it was ment to be a porn type demo)
3DXChat (never used)

Desktop: (I use a screen shot of a game in rift mode on my desktop so when I close a game I still see a 3d image)
Deskope ( pretty neat idea for a 3d desktop)

Software Not Native:
TriDef 3d Works with

- BioShock 2
- Crysis
- Fallout 3/New vegas
- Half-Life 2
- Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Borderlands 2
- Metro: Last Light
- Metro 2033
- Portal
- rFactor 2
- TrackMania Nations Forever (no Head Tracking)
- Proun (no Head Tracking)
Also a lot of other games if you tweak it correctly

Vireio Perception Works with (I dont use Vireio that much copied pasted off website)

AaaaAAAAA!!!!! Good
Dear Esther Great
DiRT 2 Poor
Half-Life 2 Great
Left4Dead Great
Left4Dead 2 Great
Mirror's Edge Good
Portal Poor
Portal 2 Poor
Skyrim Good
UT3 Poor

I'm sure I missed a lot but as you can see there is a ton of good/decent content out there. 😄

VRcinema3D has the potential to be something really great tho and remember this is still a work in progress thing. If the person whom is doing this was to collaborate with a publisher for games and get server abilities with the possibility to go into a movie theater entrance see what movies are playing and go to a theater # and take a seat would be fantastic. If it were to have that feature with avatars and talk to people on a global scale it would make easy millions.

While yes right now it is limited to AVI codecs that for a good coder is easily changeable for the program. BUT if again they were to make this server based like MMO's then theres just the need for the server to run the movies and spread it to the clients to watch.

Don't get me wrong Vr Cinema is great best cinema out there was just saying its a pain to convert files to avi. normal movies its ok but converting a 14gb sbs 3d movie into avi takes awhile. So while people are waiting for him to update it vr player works great for just watching mvoies/youtube. Didn't mean vr cinema sucks at all just converting large movies. 🙂

As far as aesthetics Blue Marble is easily my favorite so far. For gameplay TF2 is the stand out. Playing as a huntsman sniper is particularly intuitive with the rift since that weapon limits your movement when you draw the bow. After you draw, you just look at what you want dead and release.

TF2 has such a variety of weapon types it is a perfect way to get a sense of what kind of gameplay works well with the rift (Demoman, hunstman, pyro) and what doesn't (Scout, rocket jumping)

Not listing yet is Super Mega Mega. It's extremely clever and definitely among the best out there.
VirtualReality.io: Oculus Rift software that connects you to other VR apps, without having to configure anything or take off your Rift. It allows you to browse, download, and launch VR apps all inside of a VR world.

Quake 1 and Quake 2 vr is nice quake 2 has hd textures support and such 🙂 and minecraft is great., i find those 3 are nice because you can choose to hide the UI easily which you cant do so much in Half life2. (plus you get a wider feild of view then in HL2) 🙂

Go to http://www.riftenabled.com COZ is in the game list. They have about 80-90% of all demos and games out there listed. Very good site.

What is really freaky is to load up 3D Heaven, then move to being inside the model (you can pass through the models) and get your head in the same spot. To adjust your floating head height, and IPD to match the body sizes correctly so shoulders, etc, are where you personally expect them to be.

Oh yes, then match the pose the model is in.

Then..... just look down and around.

ouch.
