For those who don't know Les, fun fact: he once audition for Metallica and they denied him based solely on the fact that he is far too damn good for them.
I've seen tons of bands live (Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Korn, System of a Down, Pantera, Slipknot, Lamb of God - to name a few). But Primus is the band that showed me first hand the largest mosh pit I've ever seen, and it was to this mighty cute song:

A: Top-posting.

@pyroth309 - got a chance to check out "Sons of Texas", and while the opening track had me hopeful, the distinct Nickelback-ish sound of the 2nd track just ruined it for me :disappointed:
@wildt - Yea fair enough. The album is kind of a mixed bag. It's their debut album and they're all young. I'm interested to see which direction they go on the followup.
When I was in highschool I was in a metal band for about a year. I was rhythm guitar and vocals (it's easy when it's death metal), and we performed this one live a few times:
My favorite album from Napalm Death is still "Death by Manipulation". I must have listened to that album in an infinite loop for at least 2 years straight lol
@Zenbane Nice, yea I love some Napalm Death myself. I was more heavily into the big 4 of thrash (and add testament, exodus, and Death Angel) in high school but there were a few Death Metal bands I was into Cannibal Corpse/carcass/morbid angel etc. Since the 80's are kind of back with all the new wave of thrash bands out and about, here's some of my newer Thrash favs while i'm back in here lol.
Supper's Ready by Genesis from the Foxtrot album. Back in the days when Genesis were awesome, before Peter Gabriel left the band. Luckily they made the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway before he went, probably my favourite concept album of all time.
2112 by Rush from the 2112 album. Another one of my favourite music genres, progressive rock. Rush, Genesis and Yes are my 3 favourite bands, but the early stuff before all three of them went crap. Like the vast majority of bands that started in the 60s and 70s they went commercial in the mid-80s, starting to replace guitars with keyboards and started replacing 10+ minute songs with 3 or 4 minute songs without any changes to time signatures and even abandoning anything apart from 4/4 or 6/4.
Imo the music industry went right down hill from the mid 80s onwards across EVERY type of music from jazz to pop. And most of it was down to electronic bollocks too, if not replacing drum kits with digital drums it was making these drum kits SOUND like digital drums/drum machines. And it got even worse in the 90s too. Solos of any kind started to disappear from popular music. 😞
Hopefully these haven't been posted in the last 8 pages... 🙂 Lately I've been getting into a few groups. Let's go international.
First up, the French group Skip The Use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHXf7wEpBPI I love the art and animation style in this, especially the facial expressions. The video is based on a french graphic novel. The lead singer has actually co-produced a full length movie based on it that's coming out soon, called Zombillenium. The trailer looks really cool and early screenings have people saying they love the soundtrack.
Next up, the UK group The Correspondents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABS-mlep5rY They do a lot of interesting videos, especially using in-camera practical effects like this one or my other favourite of theirs "Inexplicable", or hand drawn artwork by the lead singer.
